We can't even map our own oceans or lifeforms. We have not scratched the SURFACE of the universe, let alone our own galaxy.. To assume anything about anything proves how ignorant we can be as creatures. We know shit.

Whenever I see videos like this, I always wonder why we don't spend more time exploring space.

We seem to have stopped exploring now that our own world has been 'discovered'. Why aren't we working together to find out what else is out there??

We know more about space than we do about our own oceans.

If you guys think the universe presented in that video is big you need to study astronomy more.. and read about the inflation theory

The inflation theory is today accepted by the majority of sciencetist (as far as I know) and it takes the size of the universe so far beyond the size presented in the video that its almost impossible to comprehent

The size seen in the video is the size of the visible universe - which is limited by the time since the big bang.. the whole universe, according to the inflation theory, is.. are you ready?.. as many times bigger as the visible universe as one single atom is to the visible universe.

To our brain that is practially endless

lol.....You have no idea how many galaxies and planets are discovered every year. Telescopes and what not are advancing exponentially every year. Of course we haven't discovered a micro-spec of what's all out there, but it's still amazing how far we can see right now.

We will never know how big it gets and what all of this is a part of.

What was the source of the big bang? Where did it's material originate?

and thats just the billions the USA wastes. imagine if the whole world pooled resources into a group exploration of the universe. instead of fighting over land on this planet, they can claim entire planets for themselves........ and no one would argue because there are so many available.

lets fight alien races, not each other!

I like this thread so going to add to it:

Hubble Takes Earliest Snapshot of Infant Universe
A new image from NASA's Hubble Telescope has provided astronomers with the earliest snapshot ever taken of galaxies in the universe's infancy, about 600 million years after the Big Bang.

See image here: http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/...fant-universe/

They pointed the Hubble scope in a direction where it showed nothing but black... locked the shutter open, so to speak, and ended up seeing several thousand galaxies in the one frame.
