Windows7 - Big Fucking Deal
CS: So what's the big deal, looks just like Vista and every other OS by MS ever to me?
Nerd: So, you can, like, grab the top of the Window bar when you have many windows open, and shake it from side to side, and they all like, kinda drop off, and there you have your desktop. CS: That's it? Nerd: Yeah. Anything else? So far I'm totally unimpressed. I ran XP professional for 5 years or so on an old machine, and there's no noticeable difference in performance on anything. I was on a 5 year old machine with 2Gb shitty ram before, now a 64bit Win7 4Gb DDR3 Ram laptop, and seriously not seeing much difference at all. Daylight robbery. I should get in to the software game. ![]() |

Windows 7 is Vista - Suck. Vista broke SO much shit...but a lot of people think it was on purpose...this isn't the first time Microsoft has pulled a bait-and-switch on the market and it won't be the last. Even Microsoft's seemingly impenetrable armor is starting to crack in light of the economy.

I think you have missed the point ... Windows 7 is fast, stable, reliable, looks nice ... it's everything Vista should have been. It's Microsoft's best Operating System so far. XP isn't as good ... Windows 7 has so many more productive ways of doing things, file manouvering, easy access to folders etc ... I love the favorites etc in the left explorer panel for instance ... and libraries ... you couldn't do that on XP. What about the fact that XP will not be supporting certain newer technologies ... I wonder if anyone will even bother making a USB3 driver for instance?
Think ahead ![]() Also ... yes, Vista broke things. That was lazy, slow, ignorant developer's faults. The driver model was changed, for the right reasons. If 3rd Party developers had been on the ball, they'd have updated older hardware to work with the system. It was far from Microsoft's fault. They gave developers alpha copies and beta copies of Vista a year before it was released. However ... buy a Vista PC now and you'll find that it works fine. As since then, Vista driver support is solid. Also, for those that don't know, Vista and Windows 7 both use the same driver model. That's why Windows 7 works so much better, because developers now know and use the driver model as standard. I mean ... maybe I can say all this coz I paid $0 for my copy of Windows 7 Ultimate (It was a gift) ![]() I would still pay full price tho. I love it.

TD, I agree to some degree, Vista was all over the shop, I installed it on a machine for about a week.
M$ should have issued Windows7 as an apology to all those who bought or were forced to install Vista, FREE - as the OS they should have been given. Twats. |

Developers knew years in advance of Vista's release what needed to be done and only the lazy/shitty ones didn't do it. I upgraded to Vista x64 and I had absolutely no problems with my existing hardware and software.

I'd disagree about it being a free apology. Vista was a solid OS ... again, 3rd party ruined it for the first year. And Windows 7 isn't just a fixed Vista. It's a lot better.
