Chargers Pissed Me Off Today
I'm a huge Chargers fan and watching today made me pissed and dissapointed again. Nate Keading the kicker missed 3 FG's today and the Chargers D let a 42 yd run go through the middle for the go ahead TD. Dumbass penalty at the end for kicking a challenge flag. Damn you Jets... Once in '05 and now again in '10.
Football is over... back to porn

I'm not a huge fan of the Chargers, but I really wanted to see them win to have a chance to kick the shit out of the Colts next week; I hate the fucking Colts!!!!! Disappointing, because the Jets just got super lucky and I'm willing to bet anything the Colts are going to walk all over them.

the CFL has nothing to do with what a joke the entire chargers nation is. What kind of fans boos a team in i think it was the 3rd quarter after winning 11 in a row? a bunch of snobby fuckheads from san diego thats who. you should be ashamed of your fellow fans and your joke of a team. rivers, tomlinson and merriman are all pre madonnas and you can bet with any of those combod together the chargers arent ever going to do SHIT. so take your powder blue jersey and shove it up asshole shit it out and i bet you it will look the exact same. what a joke. go boo your team some more idiots. |

First off I went to watch the game with family today hoping the chargers would win even though most chargers fans sicken me to my soul.
The chargers fans cannot blame nick for missing 3 fgs he is still the best kicker in the NFL, you cannot blame your D for ALLOWING 1 touch down and another TD at a bullshit call by the refs. Fact is Turner lost the chargers the game. Chargers D was shutting out the Jets and did not go for it on forth and 1, ran LT up the MIDDLE THE ENTIRE GAME when it has not worked in 2 years and decided to go for an onside kick which if didnt happen chargers would of tied or won the game. The onside kick was the final blow of horrible coaching. You had them stopped 3 and 1 if you would of punted the ball and stopped them 3 and 1 on the chargers 35 they would of not went for it on 4th and 1 and punted the ball giving the chargers an entire minute to put points on the board. The chargers organization is a joke, and today proved it anyone watching the game knows the chargers were 10 times better then the Jets but played like shut due to bullshit play calling and coaches not able to control there players conduct.

I am a Raider fan so I have never liked the Chargers. That said, the Chargers are consistently one of the most over-rated teams in the NFL. How many wins they get each year really doesn't mean shit because they are in such a shitty division. They smack around my Raiders, the Chiefs and the Broncos and get 6 easy wins each year. So people think because they have a good record they are a really good team.
They have talent, but I have said it before and will say it until I am proven wrong: Any team with Norv Turner as the head coach will never win it all. He is a great offensive coordinator, but he sucks as a head coach. |

Kaeding - I'll spot him the 57 yard miss for obvious reasons. i will however NOT forgive 2 misses of field goals he has made without fail the entire fucking year. This is THE game where you do NOT miss...you miss 2 of those and unless your team has been blowing out the other, you are probably going home. The first one may have seemed unimportant, but look at it from a morale standpoint - halftime up 10-0 would have the Jets feel a bit downtrodden going into the 2nd half, but as-is they were only down a score with their offense picking up steam in the 2nd quarter - very easy to strongly believe they had much more than a slim possibility to win the game. To be honest, as much as we have him to thank for our regular season record being what it was, these playoff butterflies are really serious with him. I don't want to look up his attempts vs. made field goals in the playoffs since after this game it would be a tragic statistic. I personally wouldn't fire him just yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if he loses his job over this and they get another kicker...maybe an established pro with some successful playoff experience. Edit: I couldn't help myself - he's 8 for 15 in the playoffs. 2 of the misses are 50+ as far as I'm aware. Tomlinson - Good point about the play calling...inside inside inside...and every time he found the hole, a defender was easily able to get off the block and get him. Every...fucking...time. I'll say half Turner's fault for being such a dumbass (and MetaMan, we were booing the calling of plays that were dead before they started...booing in hopes that Turner would snap out of it and call the plays we needed to get back in it. Some people may have been booing Tomlinson too, who before this game was so adamant about being at 100%, being ready to make a difference if needed, etc. The other half fault really does go to Tomlinson just not being the same. Old Tomlinson would have made it through half those times he found the hole and he is now about as far from "explosive" as any RB I've seen. The only positive thing I can say about him now is that he's willing to take a beating and keep going. Strong determination in him, but the legs/feet aren't doing what he needs. The onside kick - First off, I must confess...I fucking forgot to set my DVR to go an hour over just in case and I didn't see this part of the game. Seeing in recap what happened and thinking about it for awhile, I'm inclined to agree with you even though initially I was 50/50 on it. I can't blame him for the thought of it entering his mind because the defense WASN'T stopping them in the 2nd half very well...all 17 Jets points came in that 2nd half. It was a very outcome-based move and Rex Ryan being the cocky guy he is, may have gone for it on 4th and 1 even if they were in their own territory...it's 1 yard and game if they get it, and Rivers had been finding ways to win 11 games in a row, a number of them comeback wins, and he generally tends to make shit happen when it's needed. Bottom line - my DVR cut out with I think 5 and a half minutes left in the 4th quarter, and I knew they didn't have a chance. They kept getting significant pressure on Rivers and covering everything deep...so at best we would have been relying on Nate Kaeding to not miss a 4th field goal, and the way he was going he couldn't kick a hot dog into Octomom's hallway from 1 yard out. Some points of my own: Penalties...good god. If Kaeding alone didn't fuck us, the fucking penalties did. I'd like to know the total yards we negated on offense by our penalties...one play that comes to mind was Floyd's illegal (and unnecessary) block to the back on a 20+ yard gain by Vincent Jackson. Tomlinson - If he wasn't seriously contemplating retirement, he should. He had IT and has since lost IT, and it's not mental but physical, which means IT is probably gone for good. I really hope not, but things are not looking too bright here. Miracle interception by Revis. Absolutely ridiculous that it wasn't caught to begin with, let alone that it wasn't simply an incompletion but fell right into his fucking lap. I've never ever seen anyone laying on their back make an interception, but I guess there's a first time for everything. Jets: Established run, which helped get their passing game going. Before that, they were completely fucked. We on the other hand never established shit on the run and had our running game to blame for a lot of punts. If only we had kept the Jet's running game in check. That TD run was major but the way they were gearing up at that point, they'd have gotten that TD eventually anyways. Chargers: You guys blew your chance. Manning would have choked again against you and you know it...this win would have put you in the Super Bowl for the first time in 15 years. You have so much talent that will very soon be requiring way too much money to pay, and thus will lost most of it. Rivers is great, certainly an MVP-caliber QB, but he can't carry a team through the playoffs. He did his part today with more talent on our team than we'll be able to have in the next 5+ years and the team and Norv let him down...how are we going to get close at all to getting to the Super Bowl with LESS talent than what we've got now?

I don't think the Jets are going to get past the Colts. Unless Manning gets hurt, he does not make the mistakes that the Chargers made...

It's not going to be easy, but Jets can win the game. The Giants beat the undefeated Pats when nobody in the world though they could. I don't think it will happen, but Jets can win this game.

I agree. The Jets are a great story and I have enjoyed watching them this post season, but I think their ride comes to end this week. They can run the ball and play good defense, but Manning is like a surgeon on defenses. I do think it will be a close game, but I think the colts will pull it out.

LOL damn...I feel a little bad for Nate but the look on his face and the stats coming on the screen scream uberfail. Keep in mind - in regular season, he isn't just good. He's currently #1 of anyone past and present in field goal %: http://www.pro-football-reference.co...erc_career.htm. So for him this is like ubercalifragilisticexpialidocious fail. If there was a fail/win spectrum, this game for Kaeding is at 1 end and Scifres' punting game last year against the Colts in the playoffs is at the other.
Oh, and btw he attempted suicide after the game according to Wiki, LOL.

Jet's can get far with there hard-nosed style of play. Wouldn't be suprised if they took it to the Colts this week. I still would pick the Colts to win. Dallas Clark will need to have a good game.

lots of topics here. just bottom line being Kaeding missed the FG's and he didn't look one bit concerned about it. Dump his ass and don't resign him. Get a new kicker and start again next year.
And to all the radier fans, you still suck. Closest your team gets to the playoffs again is buying a ticket... oh wait. raider fans don't buy tickets, they beat up other fans for their tickets... Oh well... football screwed me again... i'm out

was a good game. They lost by 3. Wasn't like Jets put down a beat down. Chargers D did their business. Offense as a team didn't win the game. period. Chargers beat up on nfc east this year. So they had a decent track record. Just this past sunday they lost. Season over. It happens. That's what makes football awesome. No best of 7 or best of 5. Just one game.
Past years it was chargers going against the colts and 2 post seasons they knocked colts out when the colts were favored.
