DVD drive can't read disc (no scratches)

I have an old DVD from about 6 years ago. It is in perfect condition, no scratches or anything. The problem I'm having now is that none of my drives can read the damn thing.

Has anyone else here had this problem before? Is it the operating system (win7), the disc, or the drive? I've tried on 2 machines (both with win7).

try a dvd player. the actual layer that the data is burned into may be going bad.

It may be the DVD itself, not the drive. May be the age but I have working shit on CDs 10 or more years old... Try some other unorthodox solutions since the data is already lost, you can find about million on Google in 10 minutes.
