How did they do this picture??

This has me stumped:

Like any picture online, you can right click and save it.... or so I thought... (unless they disable the right click)

This pic, you can right click, "save as" BUT then, when you try to open what you have saved, you get a blank picture with one little dot in the middle.

Check it out.... can anybody explain how they programmed this?

A dummy image is laid over the real one, so any right click options will use the dummy image. That trick is as old as the hills (but obviously it still works)

Luckily the hills aren't too far ahead of me.

I looked at it real quick and it's using:
Code:
YAHOO.util.Event.onDOMReady(function(){F.photo_replace_action.init()});
It looks like it's just manipulating the DOM so that spaceball.gif is served when you go to save the image.

If you click View Source in the Menu Bar of your browser (in Safari it is in the View menu), and then search on "href" or "img src", you will usually find the image easily, unless there are tons of images, in which case you can search on the image name.

Sometimes you may his on a smaller version of the image with a _s or _m (indicating small or large), so you just delete those suffixes, or use the same convention to replace _s with _l, or -small with -large, or thumb with full, etc.

Once you figure out the naming convention, it is usually the same universally.

It's kind of a pain in the ass (it's meant to be), but it's at least a doable workaround...
