The best way to go is custom but thats going to on average cost you about 240$. Worth it if you ask me but .. Depends on you budget.

dunno Mashable but i'm not in states, actually in italy but soon moving to poland where costs of living are dirty cheap... for example a nice flat in here (grosseto - one of the cleaner coasts in italy) is around 600 euro, the same flat in poland costs me 150. that's why i can allow myself to work one week [honestly it's too much time ;] for a custom wp theme and take for it 100$
 i am still cool with that |

www.Richwp.com has a few nice and clean ones under $100 and you can set them up with a few clicks, change layout, colors and whatnot. There are quite a few out there, it is not easy to recommend.
