Outlook 2010 vs Thunderbird

Anyone tried Outlook 2010? Is it worth installing?
Thunderbird 3 sucks ass and I keep using v2 because of its simplicity.

Am I missing out by not using Outlook 2010? ;-)

I'm on 2010, and I was previously on 2007, and 2003, and... And, I tried Thunderbird last week, for 1 week (before I joined the 2010 beta). All I can say about Thunderbird is this: What the fuck?! No, really, what the fuck?! Yeah, it's free. But, it is the biggest piece of shit of a mail client out there today. Any company that let's its staff use something like that is losing about 3 hours a day in productivity. So, my vote: MS Office 2010. The 'Click-to-Run' way of doing business was a long time coming and completely practical. And, the new Office blows 2007 out of the water in every category, including speed, and, of course, makes Thunderbird look like a joke (there is a $300-500 price difference between the two for a reason). Stand by for a full review in a couple of weeks, I'll definitely post one once I've had the opportunity to spend some more time with it.

Is it easy to divide my POP accounts into separate folders? I have always had trouble with this in old Outlook lol...
And what about GUI? is it compact or 1280x800 will be to small too enjoy reading emails?

oh and is export easy? mozbackup rocks for thunderbird..

I was using thunderbird since earliest version, but i switched now to essential pim pro version 3 which i usualy use for my organization needs, but with latest version it support mail as well.Even it is little limited support for it,for example it doesnt have spam filter,no importance markings,no support for newsgroups, and for some weird reason it doesnt load images in preview, but it is integrated, entire application consume very little memory compared to thunderbird,it have encrypted password protection and it contain only one file as database for all data compared to billions of files on thunderbird.
It is good that integration thing, now if only if i could integrate IM client and browser into it.

been using outlook forever it seems, running now 2010, like it how its done.

and yes you can have multiple folders for mail and you can have rules which mail goes to which folder. i prefer to get everything in inbox and manually sort it to specific folders after i read them.

good thing about outlook, is when you reply to email in folder other than inbox, outlook saves sent item in that location as well - very useful for me.

We use IMAP, but in additon to POP, rather than instead of.
We retrieve the messages from the server using POP, to an IMAP server
here. We can then share folders and such very easily since we're all
accessing the same IMAP mail server.

I moved from Eudora to TheBat! which I loved for its regex filters enabling some pretty nifty auto-reply tricks, but it got too unstable, so I moved to Thunderbird. I'm actually really liking the new Tbird layout, how it puts all the inboxes for the different accounts together. But I've used it for a few years now and I'm used to it. I haven't used Outlook in eons.

TheBat!: used it in the past, stopped using it about 3 years ago when it became unstable.
Outlook: I simply hate it.
Thunderbird: been using it for 3 years, but i'll never upgrade to v3.*, The new layout simply sucks.

Thinking about moving back to TheBat!.
