Need a good dinner recipe...

Not that difficult to prepare and really good.

I said I was making the bomb dinner and really all I know how to make is kale and potatos and stir-fry. It's for a girl i like a bit now.

Chicks always dig Italian food.

1. Fry up some ground beef

2. Dump some pasta sauce into a pot, like a jar of Preggo or one of those store-bought brands. Mix in the ground beef.

3. Boil some spagetti.

Hey, it ain't fancy but it's the effort that counts right?

Serve it with a good wine and she'll blow you under the table the second she puts down her fork.

Pizzas. Just buy 2 pizza bases, cheese, pepperoni/[insert your subjective opinion on what constitutes to a good pizza topping here] and you're done. Keep the oven on a low heat, let the thing cook evenly and take it out just as the cheese starts to get oily.

Done.

Yeah but? You said you wanted something not that difficult.

You have to use your imagination and creativity dude. Add some chopped mushrooms, green pepper and onions into the recipe, a little garlic if you're really brave, how about a few shots of tabasco? Some extra basil?

I gave you the extra simple version because that's what you asked for.

And any woman that isn't at least a little impressed when a guy cooks even something simple like that for her isn't worth the effort.

There's nothing wrong with making the kale, potatoes and stir-fry that you already know how to make. Maybe jazz it up with some different herbs or serve a really good wine with it.

I've also made a few recipes from this site. They're usually pretty excellent - http://cooktobang.com/

Go with 3 small courses, make a salad, a dozen cheese ravioli, and some breaded chicken cutlets...put some Italian bread on the table also.

Save yourself the effort. Order a dinner from the fanciest, most expensive place in your neighborhood. Get it before she comes, about two hours. Take the food OUT of the containers and mix it in your own saucepans, bowls, etc. Order something that mixes well, like pasta or risotto. If she's Swedish then try a fish dish.

Anyway, pass it off like you made it. In the end, if she really digs you, you can 'confess' in a really cute way. As in, "I was so into you I wanted to do anything I could to impress you and...and...I'm sorry, can you forgive me?"

Trust me on this one.

Cooking a steak is an art.

For a filet, I do this:

Frying pan (skillet I think you guys call them) on a HIGH heat. Oven on a high heat. Salt and pepper on steak JUST before you cook it. (or the salt draws the juice out). TOUCH the steak on each side on the skillet, just to seal it, literally a second or two on each side. Then take pan (assuming it is all metal!) and place directly in hot oven for a couple of minutes.

2 mins rare
3.5 mins medium

IMHO that is the best way.

And for the people here suggesting a jar of tomato sauce SHAME ON YOU. It's so easy to make a sauce and SO Much better than anything in a jar!

Chop onion and garlic VERY finely. Put on a VERY low heat for 45 minutes, stiring every 5 mins or so. Yes, 45 mins, Until totally golden, soft and sweet. Add tin toms, tom puree, fresh basil, glass of red wine, salt, pepper and a teaspoon of sugar. (this is important, there is a cool chemical thing with sugar and toms). Cover, simmer for an hour stirring occasionally.

It's so easy. Takes time, but is no effort. If you are working from home, as we most are, there is NO excuse for a jar of chemicals and shit.

Also you can make a big batch up and freeze it in portions.

What temp. oven? 3.5 min. that's it? i would have thought double that. Something like pink to medium pink on the inside... not dark red.

Nice recipe for the sauce... or as the italians say gravy

I put it right below broil... 550. I cooked one side on high in the frying pan for 30 seconds the other for 3.

In the oven for 3.5 and it was rare... another 3 minutes and out she went.

Was perfect! It was so good almost ridiculous.
