Slapass, I can see why you think as you do, but as someone who promotes cams almost exclusively I'm not worried.

Why not? Did sit-in restaurants go out of business when McDonald's came along? No. There will always be a market for those that want cheap, fast food (free webcams) and those that want to enjoy the dining experience and have a good meal (pay cams).

For those of you from an exclusively "porn pay site" background, webcams are a different beast altogether. It's interactive, it's about playing out fantasies, it's about relationships. While some guys just want to see a naked girl and jerk, others want a lot more. The free sites like MFC don't provide the latter and there is a lot of surfers in the latter.

So I don't see either type of site being in trouble anytime soon.

Edit: As for the "desperate Eastern European chicks", you should note that a huge customer base is European and many of them don't want to chat with American girls - as well, a lot of American customers don't want American girls either.

you are comparing apples to oranges to watermelons.

The streaming technology is irrelevant. Way back when I started it was jpeg push and the cam updated every 5 seconds. The quality for the free and pay cams were always the same. Streaming quality has nothing to do with anything. If anything now the people do free cams shows aren't going out to buy HD camcorders to do their free shows they are on cheap webcams that are grainy with a slow ass connection.

Read what I said in the previous post. If you can find hot girls who are going to do private cam shows for people for free, then by all means please share that info with me I would like to go check it out ;)

desperate eastern european girls on pay sites? They don't make much money any way. The good cam sites have the quality cam girls, you will never find the hot girls on free cams sites.

I could take a video of a girl on cam ( I have btw lol) and put it on a site like cam4 and have 500 people in the room and not one of them even know it is a video. Why? because there is NO interaction with free cams. 500 people asking her to do 500 different things, being "live" is just a perception, for all practical purposes it might as well be a video they are watching. The people that watch that over and over aren't cam buyers anyway.

The real cam buyers are the ones that get lured there because it is "free", they will stay for 10 minutes and get frustrated and leave. Why? because there is no attractive girls, they can't chat with the girl because the text flies off the screen, they have no control over the action.

Unlike tube sites. Tube sites take 100% of the member's area of pic and videos site and put it out there for free. You can't and will never replace quality ppm cam sites with free cam sites.

The "cams" customer usually wants more than a live sex show, the customer wants interaction, wants to talk, wants to ask, to be asked, etc... things that don't usually happen on free cam sites.

Exactly. Which is why the big tube scare that hit the adult industry I basically shrugged my shoulders at - selfishly speaking of course. Cam sites will eventually grow and change into something else, but the basic premise will be the same, as well as it's attraction.

I think free cam sites are more of a competion for tubes than for standard cam sites.

Personally, as a cam site owner, I have zero interest in the little boys too young to have credit cards and the guys with no money who sit there hour after hour hoping for a free show or a nip slip or an upskirt ie the people that make up the viewers on free cam sites and I thank the free cam sites for giving these guys somewhere to go where they won't be bothering paying customers who are looking for something else.

I hope you guys are right. I sell webcams but I have never bothered to watch one. So i guess i was pretty surprised at what was going on. I grasp that guys want one on one. And will pay for it. But we lose customers to everything that is free and easy. I read the arguments. I know that if free was not available we would have more customers. Simple fact in my world.

free cams have ALWAYS been around, if you don't believe anything else we are saying just know that simple fact. No need to start worrying about something now, that has always been around.

We really don't lose any more customers to free cam sites than we do to free tube sites (which is very very few). Go into one of those free "hot" cam girl rooms and let me know if she puts the dildo in her pussy when you ask her too. If she will zoom in like you want, if she will kick everyone else out the room for you, etc...

The people that watch "free cams" with a room full of guys are better off watching good cam clips and just telling themselves it's live. There is no difference. People who watch free cams often and don't spend money on ppm cams, weren't ever going to spend money on ppm cams anyway.
