Who here uses Name.com?

They seem to be a relatively new registrar, so you don't find much feedback on them. The price for a .com isn't exactly the lowest ($8.99) but it's the free private whois that made me take notice.

Who here uses them and how has your experience been?

BTW You can also get free private whois with namecheap but their domains are $9.99

Yeah, but it's only free for the 1st year. I have most of my domains there.

I have used them for a 2 - 3 months now and couldn't be happier. You can find discount coupons for new domains and renewals. Best thing: privacy is free!

Been using them for more than a year and never a problem. Contacted support one time and they responded really quick and even better, the response was right on the spot and abundant in information... that was a big plus for me since I'm always running into other companies support that have no clue.
On top of that, the privacy is free for as long as you have the domain with them. That's cool.
Other than that, I've got the renewal reminders on time and plenty so you can't miss renewing. Different payment options as well.

been using them for about 2 years... easy to use control panel.... they used to have some decent prices, but not anymore... their whoisprivacy sucks just like namecheap's (90% of the time it works, 10% of the time it exposes your info.... support is pretty good (they take a while to email back but they actually answer your question unlike for example Godaddy)

Hmm I was not aware namecheap had such a problem. Can you post some info to back this up?

It's one of those problems Namecheap choses to ignore (just like their sync problems). You transfer x domains to namecheap or register x domains at namecheap, enable whoisprivacy during checkout... and even though their control panel will say that privacy is enabled on all domains, chances are 1 or 2 domains are not protected. Problem has been reported several times (including posts on this board), Namecheap ignores it....

I created an account at Name.com and regged a new domain. It came down to $8.25 with a coupon I found. Seconds later I did a whois and the domain was protected. So far so good..

Using them for all my domains because of their free whois protection feature. So far so good. Had some issues with domain transfers and one time with a payment but support resolved everything. Don't know a better domain registrar.

And if you are planning on registering domains with them be sure to google for coupon codes to take a buck off.
