Man I'm mainly listening to soul music lately, to add some:

Isaac Hayes - incredible arranger and song writer and an all time hero

Late Aretha Franklin - pure genius

She gets it on and just blows you away.

Dionne Warwick

Marvin Gaye - "What's goin on" one of the best albums in the history

The Chicago school - The Impressions and Curtis Mayfield deserve to be on every pedestal out there

Deniece Williams

Freda Payne - love "Band of gold"

If you wanna go the more funky route then of course you have:

Brothers Johnson

The Headhunters

Kool and The Gang (had a great start then became more of a regular disco act)

George McRae

Instant funk as an epitome of dance funk music

Earth Wind and Fire

The Headhunters

Maze feat. Frankie Beverly - all smooth

Plenty of unknown bands these days that I'm still on a hunt for, incredible times for music.

Ingenious background for a lazy afternoon or a romantic wild passionate übersex night.

Being a musician ...

I like most all types of music. I play trumpet, valve trombone, tenor sax, Fender & Gretch bass, Lowrey organ, Casio & Yamaha keyboards ... whew. I like the 50's, late 60's and early 70's music ... but, when it gets to 5 screetching guitars with distortion and singers swallowing the mike and screaming lyrics that were not understandable I lost interest in modern music.

I played at the old Peppermint Lounge in Detroit in the 50's, played with Tommy Dorsey band in the 60's, do background trumpet playing for upcoming singers doing demo records and with various local groups on occasion. I'm 73 now so am slowing down a little. Was on the road in the U. S. and Europe for 10-15 years and loved it then ... but age is creeping up on me.

Do some stand up comedy now as 'Crazy Ernie' and do pretty well with that. Do a lot of freebies at rest homes, etc. Have both a tame and a downright naughty 'Crazy Ernie' routine. Both have their place in todays market.

Hum a nice song today while you work.
