Processing fees - CCbill-Localbilling-Epoch?
I believe CCbill and Epoch starts you on 15% normally?
But what about localbilling, 365billing, verotel, etc? |

CCbill starts at 14.5% + a 5% reserve. They also skim your master card traffic. However, they will probably be one of the last processors standing.
Epoch... meh. Don't get me started. May their mothers suck cock in hell. Zombaio doesn't charge the $750 visa fee and everyone seems to be waiting for them to fail. Who knows if they will or not. My experience with them so far has been good. If it stays that way, time will tell. My advice, don't put your eggs in one basket. Use a few of them. |

Explain what? The master card comment?
Easy... do a test sign up on your ccbill account and use a master card. The second you enter a master card number a NEW button pops up out of thin air, a much larger button than the one you want them to click on, promoting them to join the site and keep shopping at ccbill (it also loads some cheesy text but you can change that - after you contact them and request it). Being its a much larger button, it looks like the one to click, so you do. Then you will join the site BUT a new page loads with about 10 new site listings on it and unless you have a shit load of ccbill sites, they load other sites in that list that you get ZERO dollars from if someone joins one. In a way it's like an exit page where you get screwed. Of course, ccbill gets their cut of the sale but the odd part is, the code here is encrypted. Unlike your ccbill code or any other ccbill code you've ever seen, this one is a garbled mess of encryption. My guess is, and it's only a guess, is that it's encrypted because they are getting a cut as an affiliate from those sites. CCbill says they only get their usual fee but if this is the case I don't see the reason for encrypting this area. Maybe someone smarter than me can explain why the only code that is encrypted anywhere, is this one. Now, if you have 10 ccbill sites, your sites will load here by default. If you have say 3 sites, it will show your 3 sites and then load other sites you get screwed on, should someone join. But if you do have 10, it bumps them off UNTIL the process repeats. At this point, your sites are gone and CCbill loads someone else's sites, and you're screwed again. Anyway, that's just the way they do it. I still use them and consider it part of the ass fucking along with the 14.5%. Though, I use them as a CCbill option only for those who feel more comfortable using them. It's just a clever way to skim your traffic and they earn a few bucks here and there on the side. It ONLY happens on master card sales. NOT visa. CCbill told me master card makes them do it, which of course is bull shit, but if you want to use them you play by their rules. I've learned the hard way that when you buck a processor, they buck back and freeze your account. I've been told this is an old issue and many know about it and have been for a while, so this is why it's not discussed anymore. A dead horse. Either way, I still use them for those who want a CCbill only option. |

I had no idea about other sites popping up... I purposely do not offer upsales/xsales because I don't like them. Don't want them, certainly don't want 10 of them.
I know exactly what your talking about and as soon as I can justify my own merchant account I am gone for good with processors. |

You won't see an up-sale pop up there, it's a very wide button that appears below the usual button that allows the surfer to keep shopping. After they click that, the join happens and a new page is loaded with a list of other sites. Look again, you just didn't notice it. Neither did I for about 6 years. It happens ON the join form, the moment you enter a master card number. As far as I was told by CCbill support, you can not have this removed. You can only change the cheesy text on the button and under it. I noted with red arrows what pops up the second I add a master card number on the join form. ![]() |

Like I said before, if you have 10 ccbill sites you CAN make your sites list first and bump the others off the list, for the first round. You can also change the chessy text. But if someone chooses to join one of those sites, the second time around you do not have a choice and the other sites load. So you can adjust it to a point, but after round one of this page the other sites load up.

Wow I've seen that mastercard button before when testing, and didn't think much of it.

I didn't know this, Thanks for the Info. I was going to re activate my account next week, but now I don't think that's something i will be doing. Unless that button is removable.

Seriously though, they are one of few options for people just getting into the biz so I am sure they can get away with alot. I agree with DWB, if thats the way the game is played, then play it that way until you come up with a better solution of your own. |

The Continue Shopping button is a Master Card requirement that was implemented years ago. Such a button will appear on an Epoch form when using a Master Card as well.
Feel free to contact me if I can help at all or answer any questions.

Depending your volume, product, infrastructure, longevity, etc; having your own merchant account might be the best way to go.
