I am to old for a draft. I aint the first pick and prolly could never fight a war. I am a conscious objector and have been since being honorably discharged from Ft Mc Clellan Alabama.

I was an MP.

But what concerns me is whether or not when the draft comes how many of you are willing to fight a war.

I'll go fight for my country

I'd never join the forces otherwise, but if it comes to that count me in.

I'm too old, certainly, and Canadian.

Btw, in the next war the US chooses to fight, if Canada isn't directly involved, many young Canadians will cross the border and enlist in the US military. Just like they have done for this Iraq war, just like they did for Viet Nam.

No, not like that at all. My word is good enough for the people who matter here. If I say I read an article or articles on this, then I did. Period. It was nearly a year ago, I didn't save the bookmark just in the off chance that some doubting dipshit would challenge me a year later on it.

And it is well documented that many Canadians headed south to enlist for Viet Nam. It really shouldn't be all that hard to find in a search engine. You do know how to use one, don't you?

When the draft comes, the Saints better pick up a good linebacker and a safety in the first round, and at least 1 good corner.

Why the spin on Vietnam... I never contested that ... But Iraq is some BS your are pulling out of your ass ...

Normally, it shoiuld be easy for you to google an article ( can't be more than 2 years old ... ) . It is harder to prove that it is not there...

You should be intelligent enough to understand that and not to state things which are not known as facts ....

That you state it gioves it no credibility at all...

And if you are referring to this:

Quote:
Thirty-one Canadians are with U.S. and British troops in the Gulf as part of a military exchange, and a British army officer told CBC News that some of the Canadians are in combat.
37 soldiers ( far from your implication) and not willingly.... They were in a program of exchange before the war....

Nope. Sorry.

Anyone paying the least attention to my posting style would know that I'm not one to make shit up.

Why you think I have to prove what I say to you, a known dipshit, is beyond me. If I have no credibility with you, what do you think that says about the worth of your word to me?

Nope, not that either. There was a news article printed just after the war started that was all on those Canadians who crossed the border to sign up. The one's mentioned were all from down east, like the maritimes.

I crush your gay little finger-flipping smiley.

If the draft came, and the US asked for Canada's help, I would join the Canadian army and go over.
Shit, if Canada was involved in Iraq (even afghanistan) I would never have been in adult- I would have been fighting.

But we didn't get involved so it is a moot point. Nothing is more important than preserving our great countries and I would die fighting if I had to.

First off I'm to old I think.. But I would not go to Iraq. I do not believe in the mission and would not fight what will basically be a civil war. If it was about terrorism or a real threat to America or one of our allies then yes, but I would be no part in a war for big business.

Involved, but I would say 90% of canadian citizens dont consider it essential, nor a huge threat. We are there just to beef numbers.
I don't consider that much of a threat.

I should clarify. If it was something the Canadian government said "We NEED soldiers, our freedom depends on it" such as the US is doing now... thats a diff story.

Us Canadians are too busy keeping Molson Breweries working overtime supplying us with beer, to worry about going to war. I think I'll stay put here on the Island, and do some golfing, while everone else runs off to war.

Because the Saint's really do need a good linebacker and a safety in the first round, and at least 1 good corner. The draft is their only chance to get them.

If they imposed a draft I wouldnt be worried. I have to many things going against me for them to draft me.

What if our side were the hostile invaders? Would you participate in an unprovoked act of aggression? I'm saddened we have such a high % of our citizens seemingly always ready and willing to start a war. An army of individuals too blinded by patriotism to question whether they're the good guys or the bad guys ... keep in mind that Hitlers army was made up of very ordinary people just like yourselves.

I don't want to fight anyone. And I don't like emo. But right now I'm pretty fucking ashamed of being an american citizen, and I hate that, I never used to feel this way. I used to love this place. But our country has been hijacked by religious radicals with a dangerous agenda of preemptive war; yet they still enjoy popular support. A few years ago I would have thought this unimaginable.
