No where in the video is it implied that the people in the video are from the Tea Party movement.. Except the last frame or two where "someone" made an overlay and applied it.

Most likely a demotard... Besides being from canada you have NO say in what happens here in the USA... Have a nice day.. Thank for playing..

Retarded last frame, and even if you have a few Tea Party people that are nuts, that always happens in a group. A few have to take things too far. The point is that there is a growing number of people who are active and vocal about the hijacking of the American government by a President, Congress and Senate that no longer listen or care about the people they were elected to serve.

Mu guess is that many of them are going to get a big wake up call at the next election. Many are not even running again because they either are ashamed of the way things are going, or know they will lose badly.

Its funny...there were tons of protests by people who felt bush stole the election in 2000...those people were called commie hippies, etc but somehow these people are pariots, freedom fighters...what a joke.

I didn't really see much racism there.. I remember seeing similar signs at anti bush protest. Comparing him to Hitler, monkeys etc.

Whats so bad about the economy turning around, better health care availability and affordability and stability, new financial reforms and the rest? I guess when the alternative message is he's hitler baby killer kenyan illegal anti-christ who's trying to take guns and rights away, it's an uphill battle.

I'd bet my last quarter that 90% of those folks would love a moderate republican to support, rather than being asked to wander around with doom and gloom in their hearts and minds.

Yeah affordability, LOL
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/0..._n_549051.html

According to the White House, the economy has been turning around for about a year, still waiting for proof.

And now we have the head of HomeLand security that doesn't seem to care about the security of the border in Arizona, and she held office there.

You dont understand that the economy has been turned around for a year, then there's no "proof" good enough I'm afraid.

The article you posted indeed talks about short term increases and long term savings and thats with covering 34 million more Americans, removing lifetime caps in payouts, removing pre-existing conditions.. and all the rest. So I guess it's a matter of perspective.

If you read the report that was put out, the savings that was needed to pass the bill the way it was passed, are just not there and prices are going to continue to rise over the next 10 years.

My perspective is that the savings promised aren't there, that prices will continue to rise and with the budget the way it is, you know, they have the commission trying to find ways to save money, I don't see the current law ever working. It's an entitlement the US can't afford. The report says that 15% of hospitals will have to close their doors, how does this help in accessibility? And you say short term, the report says 10 years, knowing a little about the government, you think it will get better after that?

Ok, the reason it's not TRAGIC that 15% of hospitals could close might be hard to imagine, but not hard to explain. There is a lot of money in the bill/law to make MORE community medical clinics. This is for all the 34 million people more who will now be able to go for regular checkups and visit WITH insurance cards INSTEAD of needing to go to.... hospital emergency rooms.

Thats why it can be MADE to look like a horrfying number, but generally the people playing it that way dont bother to explain anything further.

The economy grew by another 3.2% according to the report out today. Every news network should be at least running that headline in their wire scroll-crawl thingy. If not, google search for 3.2% economy, or here: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/01/bu...on.html?src=mv

Or here's a snippet to illustrate:

"The broadest measure of the overall economy grew at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 3.2 percent in the first quarter of 2010, after gains of 5.6 percent in the fourth quarter of 2009 and 2.2 percent in the third quarter."

"The report projected that Medicare cuts could drive about 15 percent of hospitals and other institutional providers into the red, "possibly jeopardizing access" to care for seniors."

I got to ask, do you jump in a pile of horse shit looking for a pony? Nothing in this statement from the Health And Services Department says anything good.

"During 2010-2019, however, these effects would be outweighed by the increased costs associated with the expansions of health insurance coverage," wrote Richard S. Foster, Medicare's chief actuary. "Also, the longer-term viability of the Medicare ... reductions is doubtful." Foster's office is responsible for long-range costs estimates.

The economy grew, yeah I saw that, unemployment is still at 9.7% and going to get worse after the temp jobs of the census are over. And with the money employers will have to pay out for increased health insurance, it's in their best interest to keep the employee numbers down. That's why productivity numbers are up!

Mark, My wife Vino and I have been going to Tea party protests since before Obama took office, right after Bush signed the first bailouts. Racist? Hell no. I've been to "peace rallies" with tons of hatred violence and intolerance being shown, but never seen anything like that at Tea Party events. Even when there are counter protesters there, the Tea Party people just ignore them.... Try counter protesting at a left wing rally and see what happens to ya!!

Meanwhile, please remember that my wife is probably darker than Obama, so..... Maybe you should try going to an event yourself and finding out first hand, rather than relying on heavily edited, hard to substantiate, video with an agenda....

Just a suggestion.

It comes from something a friend said to me a long time ago. A pessimist would look at a pile of horse shit and walk away with his nose turned up, A optimist would dive in looking for pony.
It's best to be a little of both and wait for something to move under that pile of shit before you dive in.

Thats probably the best way to measure it but you have to also realize jobs also always lag behind the economy, both on the way down and on the way back up again.

All that chart shows is a loss of jobs, loosing jobs has slowed down and the democrats want you to smile, guess what, that's not good news, until jobs are gained, the numbers are bad, employers have to actually start hiring people. Over the last year, the only big employment gain has been in government, they have to be paid with taxes that come from us!

I agree with you that in no way does this show that things are great or even good. But it does show a pretty clear trend that things have gotten better then they were.

The liberal morons on this forum have nobody else to communicate with so they need to make these threads to feel validated. IT would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad.

And this is helping the job market how? People in mass numbers are either unemployed or under employed and that number has been steady for how long? It's just bankers making money, thats what the DOW is and thats what got us in this mess to begin with. So forgive me for not thinking sunshine is coming out of Obama's ass!

Yes investments are better, but what about the people that live off their CD's, they live off the interest that comes from money that's been saved for a long time. They are lucky to get 1.5% on their money. My mother is one of them. She didn't trust wall street with her money, but is now being hurt by low interest rates because she put it in CD's

The only real indicator that the economy is getting better is jobs, without more jobs for more people that want to work, the economy forecast is bad

Goldman Sachs is on trial, Obama says he wants their head on a pole. Did you know that they contributed almost a million dollars to his campaign.

You clearly don't know anything about the Dow. If you look at the volume of traders, it's shit low when the dow rises, and extensively high when it goes down. This means that a select few are grabbing up the pie and more and more people are getting out. This ALSO means that despite the government's constant intervention and spin in the stock market(reason for it rising), people have stopped believing them. And finally, the dow is highly overvalued. But I shouldn't expect you to be objective, or intelligent, should I directfiesta? Hint: Rhetorical question..

Actually, things have gotten progressively worse. Bernanke and the Obama Administration are doing everything they can to try and put a spin for all of the problems. Hell, they blamed ice storms for rising unemployment claims. Foreclosures keep rising and haven't even bottomed out yet. The dollar continues to be debased. Our national debt and budget deficits keep rising thanks to Barry. We're fucked pretty much, thanks Obama!

I call bullshit as well on the financial reform but I don't think that has much to do with the numbers in that graph.

The bankers didn't get us in this mess. The politicians on both sides cleared the way for the bankers and now they are sitting their acting like the bankers are the crooks.

Wow so bush did save the economy! After all Obama can not take credit for anything bad in his first two years right? BTW that is the worse way to judge how the economy is doing, so we can lose millions of jobs for a year and gain nothing so the economy is rebounding? How many jobs lost

The spinsters on both sides of the fence will always make it out to be to their advantage in an effort to smear the other side. If you want to see if the economy has improved or not...just look at how real life is. Are people spending more? Are people working more? Are people on welfare more? Are people paying more taxes? Check out your own life...are you at risk of losing your job? Have you lost your job? If you're in any kind of job where the exchange of money is involved, has the trend increased or decreased? If you walk the streets, do you see more or less homeless people? If you're in the market for a house, or looking to sell a house, how's that going? Prices going up or down?

This is such a bullshit one-subject issue that both sides are gonna push around but in reality, the effects of policy have very little effect by themselves. Neither Bush nor Obama are responsible for economic changes, as much as we would like to make them both into scapegoats. The real cause for economic change comes from the select few at the top who control the flow of money. Their actions dictate the economy, not the government's actions. Although the President and Congress can certainly influence the economy, they have no direct control over it.

Now, here in PR, things are entirely different. The government CAN and HAS royally raped the economy. Aníbal Acevedo Vilá, the last governor, totally fucked PR by screwing with the tax system...after promising that there would be no service tax instated (the New Progressive Party stated that they WOULD implement it, and the people voted against them for this reason), he went ahead and did it anyways. In the meantime, they decided to do away with the import tax of 6.6%. Prices should have fallen...in fact, many places were advertising that prices would now be 6.6% lower. A total ruse...nothing went down in price, and now there was a new 7% tax stacked on top of the prices people were already paying. Between this and the large number of corruption charges he faced, he was easily defeated by Luis Guillermo Fortuño Burset in 2008. Of course, Fortuño fucked PR further by cutting over 17000 low-level government jobs by lottery. PR needed to reduce its number of government positions, as there was a huge insurgence of "useless" government jobs given to lackey asshats by Sila María Calderón during her reign of terror as governor. But instead of cutting the jobs in high-level positions, where it would have had some kind of effect, they just started cutting low-level positions by lottery, firing teachers, police, etc. at total random. The high-level fat cats in San Juan all still have their jobs untouched and voted themselves yet another raise while thousands of real workers got screwed. The economy here did a nosedive and has yet to recover.

Mu guess is that many of them are going to get a big wake up call at the next election. Many are not even running again because they either are ashamed of the way things are going, or know they will lose badly.
Pretty much.. like I've said to various IRL friends... It's been "building up" the last few presidencies and shit will either a) explode in a few years or b) politicians will start to listen and everything will be kosher

Just like how Tea Party people are racist, inbred hicks who hate everything and everyone?

I'm sure George Soros and other "lefties" thought those "commie hippies" were freedom fighters and patriots. The only difference, really, is that most of those "lefties" aren't fighting for anarcho-communism or a brand of libertarian-socialism, but rather complete state control. The Tea Party people are more "freedom fighters"... especially if you take out the religious nuts. There are bad apples in the movement.. and the media focuses on them.. know why? Look at this thread - it's got people talking and watching their station(s) more often. I live in the Bible Belt and haven't seen any of these "crazy Tea Baggers".. mostly libertarians who are tired of the bullshit.

And to the TS..

Give me any group of 100+ people and I can show you a racist, a gay guy, and maybe even a pedophile. Coincidences are just that... coincidences. Don't believe everything the alarmist media shows you.
