Where do normal people look for telecommuting jobs?
I have a friend that has had some health issues and is finding it very difficult to go out of the house to work. He still wants to work though and and wants to try to find a telecommuting job. Porn just wouldn't be right for him and his family. Whenever I try to help him with a search all we find are obvious scam sites or stuff like teleworkrecruiting.com which charge money to look at a database but give you no idea of what is actually in that database. For example, who knows if there are any UK jobs on the list?
Anyway, so where do real people that aren't going to be porn industry types find telecommuting jobs. |

Anyone I know who telecommutes mainstream does so either because their existing job thought it would be a good idea and allows it or they have a skill that allows them to do so and they freelance.

There are a few message boards and websites that give great info on legit work at home jobs...but most are only for USA or Canada from what I have seen..
Workplacelikehome.com is a great message board and you could def ask if there are any UK jobs... also http://www.ratracerebellion.com/JOBLEADS.html Click on the category and one of the things it tells you is where the company hires..ie. under customer service it looks like only http://www.hirepoint.com/athome/index.html hires from UK... Arise has a UK division but it requires you to setup a corporation for yourself .. http://www.arise.com/in-the-united-kingdom/ HTH

look at normal job sites for normal jobs and freelancing and request/negotiate telecommuting.
if you search for "work from home" you will get mostly scams where they want your money upfront. i'd think more companies open to remote employees now than ever before. a serious company will do extensive interviewing though. back in the day i did web consulting for some Fortune 500 company's and had no troubles with some of them doing my work from home coming only for scheduled meetings - as long you can do what you claim in your CV, that was long ago.

There are several options on what you can do if you want to work from home:
1) Stay inside for a few weeks inside your house and paint a great genius painting 2) Create a telemarketing business from your house, you can call people 3) Look through newspapers - "jobs section - ads about home business" 4) Try telephone banking and playing the stock market 5) Try giving out loans by phone to try to gain on some interest
