I don't see one hidden charge. I see two very obviously disclosed charges. The two questionable fees are fully disclosed in an easy to read manner and combined, they total about a 33% upcharge over the rest of the transaction. i bought tickets to see hank 3 from ticketmaster...only 25 bucks a piece!

i saw clapton and jeff beck earlier this year. didn't cost quite that much but up here (ottawa/montreal) most concerts aren't through ticketmaster but independants.

You do have two alternatives.

1. Go buy them at the box office.

2. DON'T PAY FOR THEM! The reason they charge that much is that they know saps will actually pay it. If people spoke with their wallets and stopped paying those absurd fees then they would stop charging them. Why does it cost $10 for a beer at a sporting arena? Because people still buy them!

Yes, the prices are outrageous, but if you subsequently purchased that ticket, then you are part of the problem.

Higher ticket prices and these charges have only come up the last 7-8 years as a way to try and actually make back some of the billions of dollars lost every year to illegal downloads.
