Yesterday my A/C unit started shitting the bed, today my printer

I guess I have a freon leak that's causing the coils in the A/C unit to freeze over. Was getting some cool air so wasn't like ethiopia in the house, but an 80 degree livingroom is far from ideal.

Getting a new unit put in today, fucking pissed about it, but what can you do. The coil was going to cost 2k+, the new unit is just under 5k, but it will cut the power we've been using on cooling the house by 40%, comes with a 10 year warrenty, and with the tax break and rebates all told be coming out of pocket only $1000 - $1500 more to replace the whole thing.

Not happy about it, but such is life when you own your own home.

Now my black ink cartridge is giving me trouble and for some reason, maybe it's just transfered agression, but I'm about to pull an office space on this fucking thing.

The cartridge is nearly brand new- not empty. I've taken the thing out, fucked with it, got ink all over myself, put it back in.. still nothing. Fuck!

Just finding it ironic that I can shrug off a $5k expense that just fell out of the sky but I'm losing my shit over something that will set me back less than $50.

Trying so hard not to smash this thing.

Interesting... a few months ago my furnace went out and my black toner ran out at the same time.

How did you handle it? Were you able to shrug both off or did one or the other really get under your skin.

Right now just enjoying nice cool A/C. The new unit pulls the moisture out of the air, which in Florida is muy excellente!

I fear the day our AC stops working. We have a backup wall unit I won't get rid of just in case.

I fucking hate printers. But I bought a cheap laser printer from dell on sale once and have had zero problems. I've killed too many ink jets and fuck is the ink expensive.

Deep clean the printer heads a bunch of times. I dealt with this the other day.

I'd probably guess you have a Canon printer too, as it's a common Canon issue

The toner issue sucked because those cartridges are ultra expensive. But delivery was fast.
The furnace issue was a borderline nightmare. Had three different service people out and a week passed (in cold weather) before it was fixed. I was burning firewood like it was.... well, firewood.

If the A/C goes out again like it did last summer, we have to leave and go to a hotel. The way the house is positioned to the sun makes the upstairs about 150 degrees in the summer when there's no A/C.

I think I've used my current printer to print my tax forms and nothing else. Except this year I went to do it and the unit is broken. It tries to pull the carts to the left in front of the paper, but stalls, then just gives that stupid "there is a problem with the printer" error and shuts itself off. Fuck it.

Hurl your printer into your AC unit is what I say. HURL it! lol

Yeah, my laser printer here (HP color laserjet 2605dn) hardly gets used at all any more. I'm totally paperless in here now. Every once in a while I need to print out a recipe or directions or something though.

My first printer was an NEC p60. I still have it in my basement, in the box with all it's packing. Still worked great the day I packed it up. EVERY printer I've owned since then has died and gone to the trash pile though as being too costly to repair versus replace. Heck, usually a new printer is cheaper than a set of inks. What crap.

Double overhand hurl!

Its a lexmark. I needed to get a new fax machine and I found a great deal I couldn't pass up on an all in one. but I just bought this friggin thing maybe 3 months ago, tops and I've barely used it for printing.

I just packed up my laser printer because after buying this thing it didn't make sense to have both of them taking up space. Oy vey! Laser printers are 100% better. So pissed at myself.
