directNIC expired question
I've been watching a domain and it expired and went to pending delete and it looks like the registar bought it before it dropped or something.
When you visit the domain it says: This domain is expired, please renew it. Please contact us for more information. The whois: Registrant: DirectNIC, LTD Expired Domain Name *address removed* Created: 2008-04-29 Expires: 2011-04-29 Updated: 2010-05-01 Registrar Status: clientDeleteProhibited clientTransferProhibited clientUpdateProhibited Name Server: EXPIRED-DOMAIN-NS50.DIRECTNIC.COM EXPIRED-DOMAIN-NS51.DIRECTNIC.COM Its not a one word domain or anything special. What are they going to? Keep it and display the parked expired page forever? Or will they pass it off to an auction site? Or what? |

More than likely the registrar bought it and is sitting on it because they saw value in the actual name or it is steady traffic.

Think I should contact directNIC and try to buy it?
The domain has 0 traffic. It had a blank page for a year. |

The guys at directNIC must have a lot of time, a domain I purchased on these boards was at directNIC, I decided to renew/transfer to Moniker and they sent me an email today personally and also called my home and left a message...asking if I would leave the domain with them...and if they can do anything for me.
