what kind of spider is this?

Found in a bathtub in Minnesota. I've tried google, closest I can find is maybe a wolf spider but they look a little different. Any help from the experts on gfy?

Looks pretty harmless, generic house/wolf spider. Just a guess.

That's a common "Minnesota Bathtub Creeper".

Nothing to worry about.

That looks like a regular old wolf spider. You should probably poke it with your finger to see if its bite makes your finger rot or causes a slow painful death. If your finger falls off or if you pass away, it wasn't a wolf spider.

That's a good test. Works with snakes too!

Someone should start a spider info site, that has pictures of squished spiders. That's the only way I can ever identify mine but nobody ever has any pictures to compare.

I've got a snake living in the garden that makes a funny rattling noise when I get close to it. I'm going to try this test on it tomorrow. Thanks for the tip!
