I am starting to shoot content for our escort site and I need some guidance. Please look at this clip and advise me on lighting and camera. I am using a JVC HD7u.

Any pointers you can give will be really appreciated!

I agree, maybe too much light? Or the wrong kind... this is with fluorescent lighting.

You shouldent really have to worry about anything to just shoot amateur video.
To me it looks like you have the Camera on Manual and have been messing with the settings

Put on Auto, bit of light....even a small softbox
point and shoot

what about to change your White balance? it will give you correct colors if you do it manually. about the lights, if you are shooting in a small room put them in the corners and put a small soft boxes.Cheers !

All I saw was a still so hard to comment on what is wrong with a video, however.

Your light balance is screwed, read the manual to find out how to reset it.
You don't have nearly enough light, even for amateur. So get some lights, you can use the cheap lights like these lights are a cheap alternative to the proper lights.

Just bounce the lights off the wall or ceiling and don't forget to light balance.

Much thanks guys. I will try to adjust the white balance tonight and see if that makes a difference.

I am not sure I can change lenses on this camera, but I will be more conscious of the camera angles next time.

Paul, I appreciate your input. Under the still was the clip. I am in Indonesia and I might have to get those lights in Singapore.

OK I now found the clip.

A. Lighting problem, get more lights.
B. Light balance problem. Refer to the camera manual on how to set it.
C. Bored model. She looks about as interested as I do when doing the washing up. Tell her to get more life into it.
D. Framing. Too fucking close to the model. You might be better off putting the camera on a tripod behind you or getting a wide angle lens of fitting to go onto the lens.

E. And the most important IMO
If you can get Asian girls to fuck and suck in front of the camera and improve your skills, you could be sitting on a goldmine. If I were well I would say fly me out there and I will give you all the tips you need. LOL

I really do appreciate your advice Paul and would love to have you come over. I feel like a fish out of water with this as it is not just "put the camera on a tripod and fuck". For the first time in my life I am thinking about buying viagra as I find myself worried with lighting and angles as my dick goes limp

The simple fact is I have about 25 girls right now that will pay me to make these clips, with new ones popping in all the time. My customers pay 3 times what the girls normally charge, so they will do almost anything I ask. I make good money with what I am doing but I believe I could make a decent paysite around the girls and the fact they are "available" to the member.

POV isn't as much fun as some think. Getting in a cameraman who knows what he's doing with porn is a great idea. Finding one I imagine is hard in Bali.

I have to be really careful as to how I conduct business around here. Finding a proper camera operator is on the top of my to do list.

At this point Paul, the clips you have seen are my first attempt. I am not sure if I will wind up using the content on the escort sites, opening a paysite for existing customers or just selling. I am thinking a mixture of all. But as you say, making good content is the first step.

BTW, I went back and read your thread from may 2010 and got some great pointers. I used some tonight as I shot my 2nd session and will edit it later. I think it is much better than the first thanks to the feedback received from all..
