Seaworld San Antonio Tips
http://www.seaworld.com/sanantonio/default.aspx
Just returned from a quick mini vacation to a few water parks in TX including Sea World. A few things I have learnt that saved time, money and aggravation. 1) If you buy a single day pass on-line and print it out, it won't work in the automatic ticket machine, they are for season tickets. Just go straight to the turn styles. 2) Pay an extra $5 and get preferred parking, (regular parking is $15) otherwise you will be walking for 10 mins to the car after a long day in the sun, not fun. 3) Take a bathing costume if you want to visit the Lost Lagoon waterpark or go on the park rides. I also bought my daughter a few towel "coverup" dress things in walmart that were great to wear after getting wet. 4) PAY THE EXTRA $15 - $20 for a "quick queue" pass. http://www.seaworld.com/sitepage.aspx?pageid=897 It was the best thing I did. Our wait times were less than 5mins whilst everybody else was waiting 30 - 45 mins. If it's busy the waits can be 2 hours on some of the popular rides. On a couple of the rides we were allowed to just stay on a extra time instead of having to walk back to the entrance and come in again. 5) Get to the Lost Lagoon Waterpark at 11am when it opens. We did and got to do most of the tube rides a few times with no wait. We stayed in the waterpark area until 1pm as then it started to get very busy. 6) Eat at off peak times. We waited until 2pm and the wait time in line was only about 10 mins. The food at Mango Joes Cafe is not bad. The Fajitas were good, but like all amusement parks, $8 a head for lunch not including drinks or desert is expensive. 7) You are only allowed a cooler the size of a six pack. I took a six pack size and got in 4 bottles of vitamin water, and 4 regular waters, plus 3 apples, 3 bags of chips. This saved money on buying soda etc, plus provided a snack enabled the children to last until a late lunch at 2pm. 8) Make a note of exactly where your car is. We were lucky as we were near the entrance, even so it took me 5 mins to locate it as I was in such a hurry to get into the park I did not make a note.... When it's 100 degrees and everybody is tired even 5 mins feels like an eternity. What I don't get is why people will spend $$$ on junk food, and overpriced t-shirts and wait in-line for an hour, but won't pay $15 for a "quick queue" pass. As I took my two children under 7 years old I would have paid double to not hear them complain about waiting in line, and how they want to go to toilet when were in line etc... We did enough waiting earlier in the week when we visited Schlitterbahn Waterparks earlier this week. They have no "quick queue" and we waited well over an hour for one of the tube rides. Hope the above is useful.
