eBay returns?

I need to return a product I bought on eBay. The seller was banned shortly after I made my purchase so I can't really look this person up and he is not responding to messages. Yesterday eBay support told me that I need to return the product within three days in order to receive my money back, yet they did not tell me where to send it (eBay support blows ass, by the way.)

And no, I did not keep the original shipping package. Anyone have a clue as to how I find this return address? I would like to get the product shipped out today but eBay support is so slow I have doubts that they will respond to me by end of business.

Did you pay with paypal? Can you get the sellers address through them?

Did you pay with a credit card? Can they help you track down the seller?

Nope, no address listed in PayPal.

This is very frustrating, this whole return process has been going on for three weeks now and I am probably still another three weeks away from getting my money back, and then add another 1-2 weeks for me to get the product I originally wanted a month ago. Damn.

One of the many reasons I never use eBay. (truth: I've used eBay twice. Been fucked both times).

File a dispute through paypal they almost always side with the buyer. Just make sure when they tell you to send the item back you use delevery confirmation.
I had almost the same thing happen to me and when the seller didnt respond to my emails I used the words paypal dispute and they replied within 5 mins

File a Paypal claim,
state the reason "item broken" or "significantly not as described" and I can assure you that in 9 out of ten times, Paypal will side with you as the buyer (they want to buyer to have a pleasant experience and return and buy many more things!) and you get your money back from Paypal.

Then, if nothing else, the seller will appear from out of nowhere and try to defend his money for the item he sold.

I'll finish messing with eBay first, they said they would get my money back, they are just annoying me because they are so damn slow. If they don't follow through, I'll go through PayPal. If they don't follow through, I'll go through my credit card.

I filed my first resolution claim with eBay over two weeks ago, they said I had to wait a week to file a reimbursement claims so that the seller has time to respond. A week passes and eBay support e-mails me "you started the wrong kind of claim, we are closing that and opening a new proper claim for you." Start another week's worth of waiting.

Why did you throw away the packaging? it worked for a few days then stooped? If all fails you should be able to get your $$ back through your credit card company...

No it never worked at all. I threw away the packaging because I never thought it would be such an issue, any time I've ever made a return it was very easy to get the address to return the product, LOL.

I bought product. Product came in. I opened the product. It sat around for a few days, did not have time to install. I went to install the software, it was a Chinese knockoff that did not even work.

I would open a dispute with PayPal ASAP alot of times they only give you 30 days and then you are SOL. Paypal and Ebay are the same company under the same umbrella. Paypal acts very quickly compared to ebay so I would contact them today.

Yeh, I think I'll buy straight from the source this time. All of this hassle was not worth saving $200.

Fuck dealing with Ebay on a return. Trust me on this.

Just go straight to paypal, file the claim, then escalate it.

Software being resold all too frequently is pirated. Not just on eBay, but on Craigslist and other venues too. Buyer beware!

At best, the software may not work ... but at worst, it may come with unwanted extras, including malware and keyloggers.

In regards to returning for refund, if it's pirated software (assuming you state that as the return reason), you may not need to mail it back.

Ron
