I'm sorry, I voted for Obama, it sounded like a good idea at the time But now I don't think he's doing a whole lot for us.

I'm not republican or democrat, I look at the two candidates and pick who I think is the best and when I compared Obama/Biden to McCain/Palin, those other two scared the hell outta me, especially Palin and during the debates, McCain really seemed like an asshole.

We should've got Kerry in the election before, to me, he seemed to know what he was doing and during the debates, he blew Bush out of the water.

I'm in that same boat, shame we didn't have the 1st woman president instead of the 1st black one.

I think Palin scared the hell out of everyone. Can you imagine if she got into office, the world would end as we know it. She is a moron plain and simple. She is half the woman Hilary is. I saw Palin and I immediately thought to myself, please don't let the Republicans win. I'm a Republican/Democrat hybrid. In times of peace, you want a democrat in office but if you want to kick another country's ass or go for straight out revenge, you want a republican in office

Did you know Clinton dropped more bombs on Iraq than Bush The First? Did you know Obama has already killed more civilians in countries we are not at war with than Bush The Second? Dont be fooled, democrats are just as blood thirsty as Neo-Cons.

Personally I had no issue with Palin or McCain. McCain WAS a true American even if you didn't like him.

Palin was grossly misrepresented by the liberal media. She was goaded, recorded practically 24/7 for any slip ups, mocked constantly etc. Why? Because for all her faults she was as American as they get. She had the interests of America at heart.

Plus she looked pretty decent for me.

This is the part that scares me, the continuing claims. It looks like the number is dropping, but that is Only because the people are falling off the First stage of unemployment.

"The government also said 4.48 million people filed continuing claims in the week ended Aug. 7, the most recent data available. That's down 13,000 from the preceding week.
Continuing claims reflect people who file each week after their initial claim until the end of their standard benefits, which usually last 26 weeks. The figures do not include those who have moved to state or federal extensions, nor people who have exhausted their benefits but are still out of a job."

Good I hope they do nothing and let the market shake off all the crap the guberment has stirred in there and let things recover naturally. The more the goverment does, the longer the suffering will continue for the people that don't work for the government.

You can't have a capitalistic based country and let the gov meddle so deep in private enterprise.

And some people would still be trying to change the subject about how bad Obama is doing to Bush or the person complaining about what a terrible job Obama is doing.

no newly elected president has ever walked into a bigger mess than Obama, politics was not this brutal in similar bad times in history, the public still had respect for politicians no matter how bad things were.

i was hopeful for Obama, he's been a major disappointment, his campaign built on an image he carried through the primaries and the presidential campaign and it was all that, image. what surprises me is how uninspiring he's been.

the only good thing and I think it worth the victory because I don't think we'd be in any different position right now had McCain won, is that there is a black family in the White House. A country thought to be very racist elected a black president. And only Obama could have pulled it off.

laughable that he's being called a socialist by the right, the country has been headed toward it for decades now under both Democratic and Republican rule. they offer no alternative, only rhetoric - put any of them in the White House and they would be as big a disappointment to their flock as Obama has been to his.

The problem is he is doing things. He is scaring the economy into the ground. Same way FDR did.

You're forgetting to mention her very real accomplishments and very real reforms as Alaska governor. She didn't just talk, she got stuff done.

She had real executive experience, Obama did not.

Don't think they are trying to change the subject as much as point out some posters didn't seem to have the same level of critical thinking a couple of years ago.

For someone who claims to be neutral, you seem to love the Dems.

Kerry is the biggest phony ever, well, maybe with the exception of Al Gore and John Edwards.

Yes. Government should force the corporations and small business owners to hire people until we have 0% unemployment.

When business loses confidence they stop hiring or start firing. Government isn't 100% to blame for this you realise ... but that being said they aren't helping.

cut off all foreign aid to every country with no exceptions, close down all military bases around the world, bring all troops home, no exceptions, take the money they were spending on that and have resources/people build energy creation sources, nuclear, coal, retarded, oil refineries, oil rigs, wind & solar so we are 100% self sufficient on our energy needs and the troops line our borders to secure them once and for all.

Any money left over from not spending it on all the shit we do around the world payoff the deficit and then come up with a reasonable sized government, wages for gov workers that match private sector wages, and then come up with a fair tax code to go forward.

Vote Gleem 2012!

Total isolationism is needed for at least 10 to 20 years or we are done.

No we dont need isolationism we need non-interventionism. The only man who would do all that is Ron Paul.

I'd settle with someone with his politics, too bad he sounds like loon most of the time and cause of his personal style and speaking style has no chance at all at being president at any point.

I'm sure glad none of you idiot's are running the country or we would be in worse shape than we are now This mess didn't develop in two years and it won't be fixed in two years no matter what you say or who's in the whitehouse. 1st the bleeding has to be stopped on a world problem, not just a US problem before you can even begin to fix anything...and in case you didn't know it...the WORLD is still bleeding! It will take decades to fix this s**t no matter who's running the country and most of you will be bitching about whoever is trying to fix it

Now, carry on with you bitching

Isolationism is retarded. Ironically, it was the Republicans who pushed for it before and after WWII, now it's largely the democrats.

Was FOX News not reporting all the big corporations going under on a daily basis the months before Obama was sworn in? At least things have stabilized compared to the spiral republicans put us in.

i got tired of arguing with people like you that never back up their points with real data or offer any real solutions..

yes, people blaming the president for failed economic policies shows a real understanding for how the govt actually works..

sometimes i forget that we ended up with a king that has absolute power and not a president that is just a mere puppet for large corporations and institutions...

and the fact that congress shapes the bills loosely based on what was originally proposed..

so, no, i dont have any understanding of economics....

you just name call, which is fine, i like to do that too..

in any case, these days i just like to make money and its a lot easier than it was the past two years....

Very ironic considering I DO back up my points and you DON'T.

Weird, I don't recall you ever stepping in for Bush whenever people were shitting on him.

I think Americans have to face the fact that their bubble burst a while ago and the economy is going downhill for many years to come. It's quite obvious looking from outside...

He's done something.... It's not still falling down a dark black hole, it has actually stabilized out.

Jobs statistically never return as fast as some of you people are thinking they should, they are the very last thing to return after the majority of the economy has already turned back around.

Even if you look at other Presidents, say Reagan... it took him 3 years to turn things around and it wasn't until his second term it got better. That's after he tripped our debt, had an unemployment rate that hit 10.8%, Interest rates hit 20%, the Stock Market crashed in 97... It wasn't all golden, but he turned the job market around by building a crazy amount of $5 an hour jobs.

Expecting Obama to even be able to turn the job market around, so it's always growing this fast, is simply crazy when the rest of the economy is still picking its ass up off the ground.

Maybe for you. It was easier making money 10 years ago.
then tell me how you would fix the economy...

Bush was a fucking moron... His father was a better president..

i was killing it 10 years ago mailing, but i am doing better now than i was 2 years ago while most others continue to decline...

so, please tell me in your infinite wisdom how you would turn the economy around and back it up with some real data...

Can we add to that... something the Gov would actually do that someone could actually get passed through?

I know lots of ways I could fix things, but 99% of it wouldn't ever stand a real chance of getting passed.

Yes economies should easily be able to do 180's. They're known to be really nimble and easy to calibrate.

Can you tell me what has stabilized?

Oh sure... Housing was in an extreme drop but isn't now, some markets have actually improved. Jobs were dropping faster and leveled off. The dollar was tanking and isn't now. The stock market had crashed and now has stabilized. Entire industries going under has stopped, the amount of banks going under has greatly slowed, the auto industry/banks didn't fail, consumer spending has went up, the gdp has went up... that's just a tiny fraction of things.

Almost silly someone would ask this though.

And the most important thing of all; we took away the republicans ability to turn this country into a christian version of Iran.

If you can't see the problems with several of those things, and why they "appear" to be better right now, I am sorry!

I can tell you one thing that is getting better, People are paying off their personal debt! (so I have been told)

I thought we were championing how the economy was improving just a couple months ago. Now that it's back to not improving, it can't be questioned?

Well, proving you wrong and making you look dumb (as usual), was my only real intent. I've offered many solutions on how to fix economy but they're just theoretical. Just because you refuse to acknowledge them or even read, doesn't mean I haven't. Thanks for playing.

It doesn't mater if it appears to be getting 'better' or not... The point was if they had stabilized. You can't fake growth if it's still dropping like it was, you can though once was some what stabilize out. Anytime the Eco has started to turn around, the Gov is the first people to say things are going great, moving forward, etc... As long as it is somewhat true, I do think it can help - if people believe it.

I agree with the personal debt going down but sadly I don't think it's because of 'people' - but more the lack of credit forcing people not to spend money they don't have so more money is going towards paying off debts they can't grow anymore.

Aside from the fact that made no sense, someone a few tiers below me on the intellectual chain calling me stupid is as funny as Lebron James criticizing Brett Favre for announcing his return on live tv. (hint: pot.kettle.black)

Of course not, you're a moron. When one is a moron, he doesn't understand the difference between "Valid" and "invalid"

So first you ask for my opinion on how to fix the economy, and then you ask for supported facts. Which one is it numbnuts? Are you having trouble keeping up with your superior? Are you done embarrassing yourself?
