How many posted galleries is enough for one sponsor?

Hi guys,
I don't usually want to start anything, as far as a debate goes, but I was wondering if we can get a good amount of feedback on a subject I think matters to all of us. The subject being: how many galleries is enough to promote a solo site, without it being too many? I have noticed that I have some affiliates using every single gallery I have made available to them from day 1. I try to make galleries as often as possible so that affiliates can use my latest and hottest content to promote me. I also try to cover a wide range of affiliate niches when making my galleries. ie: blow job, hardcore, lingerie, blonde, outdoor, flashing, gangbang, threesome, girl-girl, etc... you get the point.

What I have been wondering is this: How many galleries is enough to promote my site 5, 10, 20, 50, 100... I checked my affiliate stats for some of the sites in which I have noticed using all my galleries, and I found them to have the lowest amount of traffic linking back my site as well as a low amount of sales. Keep in mind that these same sites are in the top 50,000 on Alexa. To me it just goes to show that the surfer wants free stuff and some of my affiliates are assisting in just that. I try to keep a close eye on my content, and now I feel I might be dropping the ball when it comes to my galleries.

Should we as sponsors limit the amount of galleries used by each affiliate to our latest ones, or should we just give them all they want. Please keep in mind this question arises from link type sites. Also please acknowledge I don't mean any disrespect to any of my affiliates, I thank each one of you for promoting me. I also hope this debate may help in the increase of sales for those affiliates using too much content to promote. Lets not give it away, lets capitalize on it

Barbi

are you suggesting that if you give them 5 new galleries, they have to delete 5 old ones...?

I know that would be a lot of work, but if it improved sales and got a lot of free content off the web, wouldn't that be best for everyone?

you need to look deep within and think about the true nature of the internet and content distribution today

It is not about number of posted galleries, but rather type of content on those galleries. There is a huge differenceif you post full hardcore scenes or softcore teasing scenes with 1 or 2 blowjob pics. Make surfer horny and force him to visit your site with smart text links. Unfortunately ... when you became known on TGP market tubes will steal your full videos and post it. That is how it works nowadays

You could make fewer hosted galleries but rotate the content on them.

How true! I know I still have a ways to go when it comes to learning what makes galleries convert, but that's why I'm here.

i got that award for being really old, its kind of like when i get the seniors discount on a bus pass...

anyway, you shouldnt be changing content on a gallery, or deleting old galleries...
maybe you just need smarter affiliates...

We limit our affiliates to posting only 4 FHG's per location. Over promoting will destroy your sites in a year. Affiliates, although they mean well, will blow out your site and post every single bit of free content they can get their hands on because they feel that's the way to make a sale. Then, after you sites are blown out (you can google it and see so many free samples, why buy?) the affiliates will simply move on the next sponsor and start all over again, leaving you with no sales and your free content spewed all over the net.

This type of cycle we believe is what started the downfall of porn sales. The over promoting and giving away free content. It's not the affiliates fault, I blame the sponsors. It's the sponsors that don't control and regulate their "free samples" and FHG's. They make 100's of them and with a few hundred active affiliates posting every single FHG everywhere, in 6 months the sponsor's site will be blown out... and he'll wonder why? Don't take my word for it, there's a post in GFY from DDF productions that talks about the same thing.

We took a lot of shit for limiting our affiliates to only 4 FHG's...but we will be here in the years to come and our affiliates will still be making small, but steady sales monthly. We've been going strong for over 2 years now even in a declining market place.

Control your content, that is the key.

Nobody buys the cow if they get the milk for free. Simple and still true in this market place.

Wow!!! You just brought a tear to my eye. Thank you. Actually, if anybody from our main thread saw your response, they'd FREAK OUT! 99.82% of people here think I'm the biggest idiot that ever hit the online adult scene.

New market place, new ideas.

Thanks, you made my day.

Best of luck with your site and content.

I wouldnt be worried about limiting your galleries. The more links back to your site the better. You should make your galleries better instead of limiting them. A gallery should tease the surfer and make them want to join. Dont show your best content on the galleries, keep it moreish softcore that looks like its leading to hardcore (and maybe just a few hardcore pics/movs). Make them want to click on the banner or link. I think the issue is you need to make better more enticing galleries. I make most of my sales on galleries even though the tgp era is not what it used to be.
If im limited to 4 fhgs and there are no downloadable pics I will not push that site. I want as much content as possible to grow my sites and being limited would be a big turn off.
Have you tried submitting any galleries to the hun and see how many sales you get if any?

The right idea has netted their entire affiliate program to like $3k a month by their own omission, yet there's others that do that in a day and those should be the ones you should listen to. It's been said twice in this thread limit the content not by the number of galleries but by what content you put in them and you will be much better off...

Why is there always somebody that loves to write in and say, "some people make that in a day." Who fucking cares? "Some people?" Who??? Not you. You don't know anything about our business, our sales, our costs, Nothing. We posted 3 weeks of sales ONCE to show some affiliates they can make money with us.

So what? So what if our affiliates only made $ 3000 in 3 weeks. Do you really care?? Does anybody really care?

Does it give you a hard on to write in and say things like "they could be doing so much more if they just listened."

If YOU know how to make money, and think our sites can make MORE money, then what's stopping you from signing up and making some money with our content?

The bottom line is you don't know how to make money with our content and don't know what you are talking about.

If you did, you'd be making money and you would leave small sites like us alone.
