Toll free DMV number connecting people to sex hotline

Some New York drivers are getting a shock when they call a toll free number for the Department of Motor Vehicles.

On some DMV pamphlets 1-800-DIAL DMV is connecting people to a sex hotline called ?Intimate Encounters.'

The DMV says the toll free number used to be their's but it was cut off about 18 months ago.

The number is still in some DMV manuals like ones for teen drivers and commercial license manuals.
?I think they should change their number - or at least advise everyone that they have a new number and not to call this one because it's a sex hotline,? said driver Steven Bartolomey.

What many callers hear when dialing the number is "Connect to voice personals and hot amateur talk for only $1.99 a minute."

A spokesperson for the DMV says they are printing new manuals but will take some time before they will be circulated.
