In the USA it is our southern most region "the south" where most of our "country music" is born.

What do other countries think of our "country music" and does your country have that "rural" "blue collar" type of music?

I don't think Britain has an equivalent "rural" "blue collar" type of music.

There is storytelling weird folk-music but I have no idea who the audience for it is.

And yes, I guess in England as ottopottomouse said, it would be more folk music. And people like me listen to that sort of stuff.

British folk music started around 1600. Some of the early music is just beautiful. Then there was a folk revivial in the 60s, American country style fingerpicking was fused with British styles and players like Martin Carthy were popular. And now we get lovely lovely singers like Kate Rusby, who gives me goosebumps.

I like some country music. And yes, Canada does have its own country music scene. You might have heard of Shania Twain or Terri Clark or KD Lang.

I like all music. I just posted more modern examples of country music by people who are still alive. I guess I'm not stuck in the past.
