Which server monitoring services do you use?

I am using NetMechanic's Server Check Pro. More than a month ago my host started to show poor results especially from Texas and Washington monitoring stations. Normally I started suspecting my host has problems so I started looking for another host. I started testing one which was recommended by people on this board. Surprised I found out that I am getting poor testing results for this host too. It was suppose to be the best host and all.

So now I don't know anymore is it NetMechanic to be blamed and I should find another monitoring service or what.

Anyone using NetMechanic or any other server monitoring service and getting good server performance results?

Try HostMonitor. I am currently using it and it seems rather stable.

Oops, forgot to post URL - http://www.alertra.com/
A friend of mine uses it and he is happy so far.

Also, you could try easymonitor.com - it's free

Our company uses our own monitoring system, since we support a lot of dediated servers. If you have many servers to monitor, i would suggest installing software like big_brother (bb4.com) as alerta monitoring could become quite expensive.

We use nagios - it's a free open source monitoring program, and it is the successor to 'netsaint'

Very configurable and we like it!

We have everything - services, databases, server loads, disk space, # processes, #mysql processes, POP3, SMTP all checked .

Alerta looks okay. HostMonitor is in german??

That open source monitor doesn't sound like a monitoring service with worldwide monitoring stations.

Hmmm I am gonna look around a bit and see what's the best.

So people simply trust their hosts and no one else monitors their performance?
