The thing that sucks about such a move is that people who want to have their stuff removed from the archive probably need to pay to get access.
The content is what makes them money, so removing it will not be easy.

yeah its starting with the rupert murdoch owned newspapers in the UK, the times is already under a paywall and news of the world following suit - its the way forward unfortunately.
