More $$$ with small affiliates than with large tubes!

I will obviously not disclose any names here but this is kind of amazing :
Im comparing the stats of 2 affiliates promoting the same website from Camsense

- Affiliate 1 is ranked 10k-12k on Alexa. It's a tube site offering 5-30 minutes videos.
Sent traffic for 25 days
226,514 uniques sent
8 new spenders
$212.26 Total spent by new spenders

- Site 2 is ranked 600,000 on Alexa... Small Webcam site. Absolutely no free content on the site, no free chat of any kind....
Been sending traffic for only 6 days!
1,026 uniques sent
12 new spenders
$1,327.81 Total spent by new spenders

Affiliate 1 is converting 1/28,000 !!!
Affiliate 2 is converting 1/86

On 30 days :
Affiliate 1 generates 26$ per new signup
Affiliate 2 generates 110$ per new signup

Affiliate 1 generates $0.001 per unique - that's 10% of a fucking cent..
Affiliate 2 generates $1.29 per unique...

It's quite unbelievable

And we will see how each of them are doing over a longer period of time.
Usually 4-5 months is enough to have an idea of the $$$ value of a member

Again i won't disclose any names here but - just by looking at both sites, it is obvious that THE LESS CONTENT YOU OFFER, THE BETTER YOU WILL CONVERT AND RETAIN

I know : it's a basic rule, but seems like everyone forgot about that one....

The same rule has always applied from day 1. But few could see further than the end of the week. I pointed out the problems of chasing traffic with free content in another thread, for those that missed it here is how I see it.

99% give away 10 softcore pics, 1% decide to give away 15 softcore pics and get more traffic. Until the 99% follow them. No advantage for anyone.

99% give away 15 softcore pics, 1% decide to give away 15 hardcore pics and get more traffic. Until the 99% follow them. No advantage for anyone.

99% give away 15 hardcore pics, 1% decide to give away 4 hardcore video clips and get more traffic. Until the 99% follow them. No advantage for anyone.

And so it went on and on for years. Everyone try to leap frog the next guy. All while traffic over all was increasing it hid the worsening of ratios. The increase in traffic hid the obvious fact that something was wrong, the excuse was it was less quality traffic.

Then good traffic leveled off and ratios really suffered. Still people believed the solution was more traffic. And set about getting it. The flaw in the theory was the only way most people knew to get more traffic was to leap frog each other in a never ending race with no one winning. Often resulting in giving away more and more free and harder content.

Then Tubes hit the mix and the shit hit the fan.

Now we give away so much content for free, free content is a better bet to signing up and spending money.

But how do you get traffic if you don't give everything away? </sarcasm>

well the "new" thing is that nowadays all large porn site - tube, MGP, or whatever - are all competing one with each others to sell their traffic. The only problem is that this traffic is not productive at all. Yes they have millions of hits, but they just don't convert. And when they do, their traffic does not spend as much as on others sites...

Interesting conversion. For the affiliate program, the small site is more profitable. ..but for webmaster with 15% commission on lifetime revs what your program offer - the profit is equal with ~ $200 what is not a big deal.
The first guy with the tube site can earn more money if he sell the traffic.

Hopefully the small affiliate is legit. I believe the numbers are possible though. I have launched new campaigns before which generated 8 legit $30 signups (late 2008) in a single day from a mere 400 uniques. But this wasn't on a tube and was highly targeted traffic. These surfers were starved and I fed them. It gradually dropped as time went on, of course. This might be the case here as well.

My legal tubes (all clips < 5 minutes) do about 1:1300 on average.

Small affiliate could also be buying adwords traffic. Adword sites usually have high alexa, smaller levels of traffic (compared to a tube) but convert very well because of the targeting.

The catch 22 is that adwords traffic is also really expensive and the bottom line ROI is what is looked at rather than ratios.

I am all for helping out the low to medium level affiliates. I think they have huge potential. There have been quite a few that only got 1-3 sales a month. After a conversation with me about different promotional tips those affiliates started making about 20-30 a month. Every affiliate is important. And yes, giving away longer clips is going to destroy your conversion ratios. I have fought to keep clips around 2-3 minutes but for some reason you guys demand longer and longer clips. Pretty baffling. If you are one of those smaller affiliates and want to make more, contact me.

New law that allow porn only when is protected (paysites, avs)
so no free porn content, no hardcore tubes, no hardcore pics (with genitials)

only softcore free sites, tgps

this will have many advantages, the most important is more money for us, for paysite owners


They should cut off free porn like net casinos!
USA should ban free porn too, free porn site operators
free porn sites operated from other countries should be blocked in USA

what you want to do is sign up to somone who says they will pay you a % for life then after a few years changes there rules and stops paying.
