They need a politcal ad blocker service on TV.
Here in Oregon (like a lot of states) we vote by mail. I voted last week. Now that we are close to the election every single commercial is a political ad. Someone needs to come up with a service where once you vote you can block the political ads from the TV. I would pay for that.
At this point I would rather stare at a picture of Goatse for two minutes during commercials than hear politicians promise me a bunch of shit they will never deliver on. |

Actually we could/should do away with all political ads on TV and Radio and we'd all be better off for it, including the candidates.

I noticed that. Here in Canada it's particularly annoying to have to sit through an entire commercial block of politicians spout various blame and such against each other.

Here it's all commercials telling me who NOT to vote for.
I'd like someone to tell me why they deserve my vote. |

I wish, here in San Diego it seems like they run a political ad every 2 minutes. Tired of hearing Meg Whitman and Jerry Brown promise how they can help California.

Is that what they're saying on the ads showing for you? Here they say "(other candidate) is a piece of shit that fucked your mom and kills babies" more or less. Feels like an eternity since I've seen a "positive" political ad.

We only have a couple of real competitive races this year. Our senator Wyden was never in trouble. He has led by 30+ points in the polls since day one. However we have a couple representative and the governor race that are all very close. The race for governor is tight and interesting. The guy currently in office is term limited so he can't run again. The democrat candidate was a two term governor who took office during the dot com boom (which was very good to this state) and then oversaw the state's collapse after the bust. He also refused to even listen to anyone not in his party and would not work with the then republican majority state legislature. His opponent has never held office before, but was the back-up center for the Trail Blazers for years and is very well liked in the state. He has been smart and knows that a republican can't win the governor's office in this state if he even mentions anything about morals or values so he has focused just on the economy, jobs and education. So basically every other ad is those two explaining how shitty the other guy is. I'm to the point where I hate them both.

It has one. It's called an "off" button.
