Next week one of my best friends upcoming actor from Houston, Texas Juan Pereja will be debuting on the show. I am super excited for him and the fact that he came to LA almost broke and is now making it is very admirable. He really went out on a limb as I did coming to LA and taking a chance in life. Congratulations Juan!

This show is one of the best Zombie shows I have ever scene. It had me sucked in right off the bat. I can't wait til next week to see the next one!

I thought it was very good despite being a total rip off of "28 Days Later". The only bad part was that very fake looking shot of him riding the horse down the highway that you can see in the graphic that the original poster embedded in the thread. The line up of abandoned cars on the left of the image looks good as a poster graphic but the overall composite shot was very fake looking on video.

I loved the way they handled the 357 being fired inside the tank...because that's exactly what would happen.

If any of you guys love zombies, try to catch the Dead Set mini-series on IFC. They played it during Halloween, I don't know if its going to be replayed, but do whatever you can to watch that. It was fucking awesome.

Shiiiiiiiiit maybe I should have watched it. I've been watching their Fear Fest all month and saw the ads, just wasn't feeling the whole zombie thing. Seems it could be worth a go though

Movies are fake.

---and the original comic was written before 28 Days Later. Anyways, the "waking from a coma" thing is a good way to skip the why's and hows of a zombie apocalypse, because its not important to tell this particular story. It's about what happens after.

I love the premise. I loved 28 Days Later whether it came first or second and this series is great too. Movies are indeed fake, but the special effects supervisor did not do a good job making that particular shot look good on video. It looks passable as a still image on the poster above, but if you watched the first episode of the tv show the line up of cars was very fake looking compared to the man riding the horse and the couple of birds they animated on the upper right of the screen.

All I was saying is, sometimes when you see effects in movies and TV -- and I'm saying this because I work in CG -- it's the result of the schedule and the manpower/resources at their disposal. Sometimes "good enough" + suspension of disbelief/imagination can fill in the rest.

You're right. It did look fake. As a CG artist, I couldn't help but think the shadows looked too dark and sharp around the cars. But it didn't take away from the power of the image.

And from the average viewer who doesn't know these things, I thought it looked realistic.

They kept true to the comic. Possible Spoiler Alert for fans: I heard rumors of season 2 introducing Michonne who wields a Samurai Sword. Can't believe we haven't seen a zombie show up until now.
