Republicans Will Control the House 2010 according to InTrade

http://www.intrade.com/
So, the pendulum is swinging towards the Republicans and it seems like a lock.

The House is gonna be taken back during the mid-terms.

So, the question is who is gonna be the top Republican running for POTUS?

Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul, Bobby Jindal, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush and Charlie Crist

Are you gonna buy up all the domain name variations of the potential candidates?

it doesnt matter if they do or not, the political system in the US is FUBAR any way

to IllTestYourGirls - seriously in recent polls the majority of Americans either favor the changes 'Obamacare' has made or thinks it does not go far enough

I do not believe a word typed on that propaganda website. It is worse than Fox News.

Lets get real polls, where 53% want it repealed. October 22-23, 2010.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/publ...ealth_care_law

Quote:
Overall, 37% say the health care plan passed by Congress in March will be good for the country, the lowest level of confidence found this month. Fifty-three percent (53%) say the law will be bad for the country.

i cant wait....

maybe when people see that the grass is not greener, they will do what needs to be done...

i will say that if all goes the way the polls say, a lot of senior congress members, bot R and D are going to get voted out of office...

i hope they end up with a huge freshman class...

That might be changing if the Tea Party gets their way, look how the canidates that they have backed have taken out incumbents from the GOP. They have promised to keep on those they have backed even after the election, I hope so, the people getting involved at this level is what this country needs, weither you like the Tea Party or not

This is because the Republicans own the media and they don't want Democrats to vote. This is mind control on the masses.
They want to sell the illusion that Republicans are going to win no matter what, when they are desperate and playing 101 games.

Of all the news groups out there, most are liberal leaning, like NPR and MSNBC, the republicans are going to win for the same reason the democrats won last time, shit is broken

The news is really not the news. The news in America is for profit run by big corporations who sell according to what sells and what is in their best interest.

thats why you shouldn't get your news from one source, but agreeing with you that they should sell whats in their best interest, Fox news it number one and the only major player that leans right, which the country is leaning more right than usual, maybe the other players would notice that.

This is absolutely humorous considering you always laugh at fox news and pass it off as bullshit. Great job at hypocrisy.

Bill Clinton's first mid term saw the dems lose 54 seats in congress, and 8 in the senate.

The standard DEFAULT in this (and every first term president) mid term is that opposition to the presidents party will win more than lose.

Nixon lost 48 seats his first term.

Reagan lost 26.

I still think the republicans were more of a lock in january 08 than they are now. Whats remarkable this mid term for me is how it's NOT a sure thing even now, 1 week away.

You DO know that the term "liberal media" implies that the Republicans DON'T own the media, right? Or is this a stupid rationalization?

lets get this straight, the liberal media is stuck in its pathetic little corner. The rest of the media is looking for hype and ratings and Rove taught the R's how to play that game like masters

Why's that?
Anytime I hear an opinion from a news source, it's almost always left leaning, if not far left leaning.
Fox is almost always right leaning in their opinions and every time a left leaning news group attacks Fox for it, Fox ratings go up, just like that stuff on the View with Joy Bayheart and Whoppi Goldberg walking out on Bill Oreilly because he said Muslims did 9/11

I just saw that the republicans have about an 80% chance of taking back the house. It is hard to know for certain because there are a lot of close races where there hasn't been much polling done. Still, the trend looks like the republicans will get. However, a few races broke the democrats way in the senate and it looks like they will be holding on to the senate with as small 1-3 seat majority.

This means that nothing will get done over the next 2 years. The republicans can pass all the legislation they want, if it isn't favorable for the democrats it will never make it through the senate and vice versa. The democrats are pissed because they see the republicans filibuster everything tactics of the last two years as having sabotaged them (the truth is the democrats were just spineless and wouldn't put the republicans to task). Because of this they aren't going to be in much of a mood to work with them.

So we will see girdlock for a couple of years then in 2012 it will come down to who can pass the blame the best to see who will hold power then.

IMO Congress is no longer represents the people, it represents big business and the government itself.

Congress should be increased to 10 times its size and everyone should get lower salaries. You shouldn't be running for any office for money anyway. With the size of congress increased by an order of magnitude it would take a lot more than just a few dollars to swing the right votes and push through legislation for the benefit of big business and big government.

I'm curious where this "liberal media" tag came from. I thought the number one rated news channel was FoxNews and the largest newspaper in the US was the Wall Street Journal? They don't seem so "liberal".

Fox News = Extreme Right
FN is right of MSNBC
MSNBC is right of NPR
NPR is right of actual liberal views.

This is why all news media is either "left" for the extreme right or "right" for the extreme left. Reality is, add the evening news in you get the largest group of people in the middle of it all.

Well this is great news! I can't imagine why anyone would want to be president right now. There is no quick fix to this. Put the Republicans back in so we can bash them again.

Sarah Palin? Oh, I hope so. That would be the funniest election ever!

Jeb Bush? After the mess his bro left us in? Be serious.

Conservatives seem to think any newspaper that reports facts and real news is "liberal bias" ... why? Because when you're raping the country, stealing from working class people, and basically engaging in all kinds of crooked corporate shit, the "facts" aren't helpful to your side, and when they're reported... well, tends to go bad for you. The solution? Somehow get a huge chunk of the population to believe that almost every media channel is just "liberal bias" and the only channel that consistently reports lies and misinformation is the only true, balanced media channel. Amazing how well that has worked for them.

You know what ? if the Republicans win control of the Congress ? when things go wrong ? The Republicans will be to blame.

Winning may become a lose-lose proposition.

Who is that former President that said "Bring it on?"

um, Rasmussen is way biased.

This is not a referendum on anything. The party in power almost always loses seats. The repubs statistical blip winning seats in 02 had more to do with 9/11 and the beating of the war drum for Iraq.
