it's a 106 year old event begun when there weren't even baseball teams west of the Mississippi. it's not a snub to the rest of the world whatsoever, it's simply the name of a contest, no need to go pc.

It's the world series because it is the best players from all around the world. The cream of the crop comes to the MLB, and that is what it is all about.

American teams celebrate winning the Stanley Cup, even despite the fact that 80% of the team is Canadian....

who cares? It's sport, it's fun, it gives people entertainment, hope, and pride they might not otherwise have..

Congrats! In a few days I will be visiting a friend that lives nearly in the shadow of their stadium. Even though they beat The Phillies (my team) am looking forward to feeling the happy vibes.

Though, it does mean I lost my bet with my friend and I now need to bring a Philly care package with soft pretzels, tastycakes and other goodies with me on the trip.
