Another bullshit referee call against the Dolphins
In yesterday's game the Dolphins had possession, the ref set the ball down and Miami was ready to snap the ball. The Raven were in the middle of doing a mass substitution and had about 20 players coming and going on the field. The ref blows the whistle to stop the Dolphins from snapping the ball and catching the Ravens with too many players on the field.
I think a few games back when the Dolphins played New England Tom Brady saw a few extra Dolphins walking off the field, quick snapped and got the Dolphins a penalty. Correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding of the rule is once the ref spots the ball and steps away the offense is free to start the play whenever they choose. It is the responsibility of the defense to be ready and in no way does the offense have to wait for them. It is total BS for Miami to be ready to start the play and the ref stop it because the defense is not ready. The Ravens should haver had to call a time out or been penalized. I'm not crying on the Dolphins behalf as they had plenty of opportunities to win the game anyways. What makes me really mad is the inconsistency of referees and rules which seems to be much more prevalent these days and in many other sports like the recent World Cup. I like sports but it gets aggravating when they don't play by the rules. |

the officiating yesterday was abysmal, across the league. the raiders/chiefs game was especially unbelievably bad.
