Weren't there people here complaining before because they think Obama is being stupid by trying to push the ratification of the START treaty through? Well, this is why. Otherwise, Russia will begin arming themselves more heavily on the border of Eastern Europe. And he's not "pushing" it anyway, as Obama has wanted to ratify it for about 6 months now, but continually gets stalled.

So if a new arms war starts up, you can only blame the Republicans, especially when they come out with amazing statements like this:

They don't even know exactly what legislation is coming up, and they've decided no negotiation allowed, and they'll just block. But don't forget, they have the American people at heart, and are working for you everyday!

Exactly, which is why I don't understand what the issue of ratifying it is. 1550 launchers for each side I think is more than enough, and better than having a Russian military build-up on their western border.
