It's because adobe acrobat creates those layers automatically when it scans the document for text to make i searchable. Try it with any document with text that you scan, and you will see the same thing.

Yes, and if you look closely at the text layers (that you can toggle off and on), the characters don't match the other text in the background layers. The characters look lighter, and are slightly out of alignment.

President Obama should not have released this, you know why? Because people believe what they want to believe. Everyone with a copy of acrobat can duplicate this.

I didn't realize that it stamped out the background, too.

It's not like regular OCR.

...acrobat would be the LAST program you would use to do any modifying of the document....

OCR technology does convert images to text but it sure as hell doesn't knock out the background in the process. You're saying that Acrobat has the ability to knock out a background and convert images to to text. Also, when it, layers images to text, the text is selectable so you can search or copy/paste. Finally, why was only the personal information layered and not the actual raw certificate information such a name, State, etc? OCR usually scans typed images better than hand written text.

I'm not saying, I'm just saying......

PDF files can be modified with any graphic application. Adobe, Microsoft, Mac...etc. I don't know of anyone that designs in Acrobat...if it's even possible.

Yeah, that's pretty obvious, but if you look at the bottom it's a notarised copy. You would assume that the original was photocopied onto a page with that background, which shows that it's a valid copy and there's no alterations (at the time it was notarised)

HOWEVER... I did notice that when I scrolled the pdf, the green background momentarily disappeared but the text didn't. Fiddled a bit but couldn't reproduce this, nor could I find any way to view individual layers in my reader. The guy doing this video did have a way and he shows it's not just a flat scan of a document.

Apparently the only design software you've used is MSPaint. I design quite a bit and and always group and name layers. When you have 100+ layers it's easier and minimizes file size. I'm not a birther, I just really dislike Obama.
