AR-15 Owners. Now I understand.

I used to look down on AR-15's, thinking the guys who bought them were pussies who couldn't handle a real gun. Hell my kids outgrew 22's when they were 12. LOL. Nothing like the bang and stopping power of a 7.62 coming out the barrel of a quality made Russian AK. Tough and heavy, like a gun is supposed to be.

But then I bought a few AR15's last weekend at a gunshow. Holy fucking shit what a incredible weapon. Light as a feather, no recoil, and who cares if the rounds have half the power of a AK, hell you can carry 3 times as much ammo with you, and fire much more accurately than with a AK. AR-15 should be called Lego-15. I love the way everything is snap together on these guns. Change a barrel in 30 seconds? Wow. Convert it from a pistol to a rifle in 60 seconds. Fucking awesome. No wonder so many guys love these guns.

AaronM 08-11-2011 03:13 PM

I've been building them for years. LOVE them.

Rochard 08-11-2011 03:21 PM

About time you figured it out.

Goldmaniacs 08-11-2011 03:26 PM

Mind if I ask what you bought?

Vendzilla 08-11-2011 03:58 PM

I love mine, where ever the first bullet goes, the next 15 will follow

SW Sport and a clone of same and a clone of same with I think 6 inch barrel. Picked up two Mossberg 500s, a Saigi 12 guage and a AK also. The 6 inch barrel one I fucking love. It's light enough to shoot one handed as a pistol. It actually looks like 4 inches I'm not sure where you would start measuring it. Quite a bit of gas in your face from it but I got used to it. It freaked me out at first.

Dead 08-11-2011 05:36 PM

The AR is a wonderful gun to shoot, full auto and cheap! I like to stretch the range a bit with my old Enfield. 400 yards is still a challenge, my eyes just aren't what they used to be ;)

Got a pic of the 6" AR? I'm guessing no stock, just a buffer tube?

FYI...and no offense meant....

An AR-15 with a 6" barrel is pretty useless if it's chambered in 5.56. With that short of a barrel, you lose a ton of velocity. You may want to consider changing it over to a 9mm. :2 cents:

They are all .223 yeah. I'm sure it do lose a lot of velocity. But it's small size and 45 round clip makes it the perfect home defense gun. And yeah no stock just a padded buffer tube.

Oh yeah I picked up one of those cheap 9mm carbines also. Very fun to shoot.

The ArmaLite AR-15 is a selective fire assault rifle which was adopted by United States armed forces as the M16 rifle. Due to financial problems, ArmaLite sold the AR-15/M16 design to Colt.

The Colt AR-15 is the semi-automatic version of the M16 rifle, which was introduced by Colt for civilian sales in 1963.[8] The name "AR-15" is a Colt registered trademark, which refers only to the semi-automatic rifle.

The AR-15 is a lightweight, 5.56 mm, air-cooled, gas-operated, magazine-fed semi-automatic rifle, with a rotating bolt, actuated by direct impingement gas operation. It is manufactured with the extensive use of aluminum alloys and synthetic materials.

Ill take pics some time this weekend. I did not know they made a 9mm conversion, I might look into that as these .223 rounds are not cheap. Question is do the conversion clips hold 30 rounds or more? I noticed the 22 conversion clips only held 10 rounds.

No. They have M-16's or AR-15's that have been converted into an M-16. Like the one in the video I posted above.

There are a couple different options for that. The most popular option converts it to use Uzi mags.

I'm not sure what to say. It's almost as if you still think you're right.

Dead 08-11-2011 07:01 PM

To make this fair, I have never built one, was only told by the maker the gun I was shooting and thoroughly enjoyed it! I've handled guns with hell fire on them but the one I shot was definitely full auto.

And as the video title states, it's a "conversion" and not a standard AR-15. Physically speaking, any AR-15 can be converted into an M-16 and the lower receiver will still say AR-15, EA-15, T15, etc...

Of course we can agree on that. As long as we agree that the conversion means it's no longer an AR-15. :winkwink:

Hey, even I get it wrong sometimes.

I see your from Holland.

See some of us don't live in windmill filled candylands where almost everybody rides bicycles and is jolly.

We live in places where lots of scumbags have guns and will use one to kill.

Come visit the south side of Chicago sometime. Its just like Amsterdam, I swear.

If you like ARs go look at spikestactical.com. I am having an 556 and 6.8 built from them very soon. I already have an AK built from them. They don't make them anymore and now they go for about $3k.
