I would go with the granite backsplash. A lot easier to clean than tile grout.

I can't imagine granite with a tile back splash going well together.

You have a granite counter, then a back splash, then whatever type of wall covering. I'm having a hard time imagining tile visually fitting in there between the two.

We are almost done with our new kitchen. This was about a week ago.
We built the stainless island at our fab shop. We did quartz countertops with an Italian tile backsplash. We are waiting for the new cabinet doors,and the backsplash is going up this week. Did all Viking appliances.

Ok, you'd go with an expensive counter top such as granite and then cheap out with some glass tile backsplash? Puke.

It could be nice given the right lighting and colors.

I'd prefer a brushed stainless steel backdrop, but I like a more industrial appearance. Depends on what color your counter tops and the rest of the kitchen are.

Lace, I think you were picturing a 6" row of tile around the counter like I was. The entire wall covered like Dvae posted is pretty cool. IMO

I think glass tile is some of the most expensive tile you can get. I don't care for the looks of it though.

Tile looks like shit next to nice stone.

Although natural stone such as sandstone is the worst thing you can use for a backsplash.

You've got me there. My wife wants that stupid looking blue glass tile backsplash at homedepot or lowes. The stuff Dvae posted actually looks nice.

I have quartz, plus glass ceramic.

We did our kitchen with granite and mosaic tile, a mix of stone and glass, looks great!

No offence, but it looks like shit.

My house was a model for the community, and when we bought it the kitchen was all granite. I never really gave it much thought, but I like it. Very easy to clean.

Slate > Granite.

We personally saw both and ended up with the granite top and tile backsplash. Happy we did too.

You don't ever have to clean a backsplash unless you decide to have a crazy food fight and decide to throw all kinds of food against your walls.
