I don't agree with you too often, but I do on this. It's pretty fucking sad when you have to take down a Christmas tree just because it doesn't "properly represent all cultures" and you're afraid of litigation. I swear to God, I'm not racist, anti-semitic, ect...but all these stupid cocksuckers are pushing me towards being that way.

The fair thing to do is make the total size of the displays reflect the actual percentage who follow the religion in the country.

So if you have 250 cubic feet of christmas trees, then you put up 5 cubic feet of Jewish displays.

I know I'm an asshole, and I know I would get sued if I did this, but if he came in and started threating to sue if I didn't put up hit Menorah...I would put it up for him. In the bathroom...the nastiest stall I could find...right in a steaming pile of shit. These lawsuit happy motherfuckers are getting on my nerves.

It was bad enough when everyone had to start saying "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas". Now the fuckers want our trees too.

Just for the record angry good ole boys, SeaTac wasn't forced to remove the Christmas trees. They CHOSE to remove them rather than put up symbols of any other religious holiday; a not-insignificant clarification of the facts.

I think all religions are pure bullshit, including Judaism. But if we are going to have religions, let's at least agree that they should all be on equal footing, since they all have the exact same amount of evidence that their god is the one true god - namely absolutely none whatsoever.

I'm glad the trees are gone and the sooner that we get rid of all religions the better.

I dont think the issue is wether a Menorah should be put up or not - most Jews that I know in no way want Chanukah to be seen as a Jewish form of Christmas. The issue is what is Christmas - it seems to me to be a Christian holiday - so why should the trees that have come to represent Christmas have to be removed?

In my part of Toronto, which is in the Beaches area, we have a large South Asian population very close to us that celebrates all their religious and cultural holidays by welcoming everyone to come out and celebrate along with them. Can you imagine if during the Hindu Festival of Lights, people were to complain that the lights do not represent all cultures. No one would do a thing, and rightfully so - it's a Hindu holiday, not a Christian or Jewish or Muslim holiday.

But you take a bunch of Christians who want to put up a tree to celebrate their Christmas holiday and all hell breaks loose.

The rabbi needs to get a life, it's just a holiday decoration. The majority of the U.S. is Christian, therefore there is nothing wrong with displaying CHRISTmas trees in an airport, IMHO.
