anyone play WoW on private servers?
 

Just got a new private server setup and seeing if anyone here plays World Of Warcraft ont he private servers. so far we got Charlie from karups, a few of our friends and myself on there

isn't it kinda lonely playing on private servers? for me the most fun i had in wow was doing large raids and ganking in STV :)

The private servers can have upto 250+ players depending on the hardware you are running it on, The way we have it setup right now it can handle close to 400 people

dude - I'd play a little of that, been a while since I played WOW . might be good for a couple hours a week

how much better is it on a private server?

I'd like to kknow this is well... how would you even log on to one? Is it PVE? PVP? RP? Can you copy characters to them or do you have to start from scratch?

level cap is at 225 not 70, i can set the rates of money, and loot to anything we want, and a few of us have full GM powers if you need to ask for an item u need, or you can visit the mall and buy anything and everything from the 50+ vendors :)

this one is a PVP you cant copy characters but i would be more then happy to make you a matching character to your current one if not better :)

how do i connect to it and will it fuck up my game so i cant play regular ones anymore?

There is a program called wowscape launcher, what you do is put the ip or domain for private servers and you use that to launch WOW from the launcher you pick which server you want to connect to either a private or the retail server and it changes your realmlist file to go to the right game, so NO it wont fuck up your regular game chris

Private servers are great and Pete has done a good job with this one. If nothing else its good to experiment with different armor and classes without wasting the time you need to put in to the retail version.

Been playing private servers for about 4 months now in addition to my retail account and I hardly use the retail one anymore.

nothing its just like playing on the retail one but more fun

Ya admins can make there own items and anything else they want, if you know how to play with MySQL there is a builder to make your own items, if you wnat to set one up for you and your firends hit me up and ill help you out brad

My main account is not active at the moment. Do I have to pay and get it going again in order to hit the private servers?

Kickass, just started reinstalling it now.

I guess that speaks volumes about this game. It's soooo much like crack you can't just stop playing it. You actually need to uninstall it and hide your discs.

Thats exactly what i did then they offered it online for free trial download and thats all you need for the private servers

Oh shit i have a night elf on that server are you horde or alliance.

Candyflip your right it is worse then crack and there are no support groups.

hey im gonna start a WoW support group and charge people to get them unadicted and instead push them to buy porn memberships :)

I have HDD crash, and after that never installed again, now I actually have enough time to rest, and to finish all my daily tasks. Installation disc in hidden in safe place just in case

You guys sometimes check out wowdetox.com . It works much more better than support groups :)
