What happened to the women of GFY?
 

GFY has always been a bit of a sausage party, but it seems like there were more women posting a couple of years ago.

I know all the chicks haven't left the biz...so where are they? :helpme

It seems like a lot of the solo girls have left. Quite a few of them used to post.

In general, I think people have gotten older and moved on. More important things to do than post on a message board.

Not just women missing. A LOT of useless reps have been kicked to the curb and no longer post here.

I'm here still. I have not had time to post lately as I have been overwhelmed with work.

yeah most of them left, GFY was trendy for a couple of years, then it turned into what it is today - not really much here for girls, i doubt a girl like Vanilla who used to post here a lot got any meaningful affiliate traffic off GFY, girls would do fansign threads and receive almost zero traffic for their efforts. it's pretty much surfers here, very part time webmasters and some GFY addicts who don't need GFY for anything but a place to hang out. i guess for programmers, designers and traffic brokers there is some business here for them.

You missed it. The party's over. Help yourself to the keg though, it isn't floating yet.

I think a lot of you are right. Some of the people who were just taking up space have left and a lot of people who actually have business to do have been working more and posting less. For a while it seemed like GFY was full of surfmasters and not a lot of serious biz.

It seems like GFY would be a good place for a solo girl to gain exposure within the webmaster community. Maybe Not :(

Awwww these boys need a nice pity fuck now and then so I bless them with my presence.

When I first started visiting GFY, it seemed like there were a lot of women here whose job it was to post on GFY and look cute in pictures at conventions.

I guess they moved on to greener pastures when that wasn't a lucrative job choice any longer.

nope would be nice - i remember Ashley Brookes' fansign thread for her first site, it was huge, thread was the longest fansign thread i've seen and the girl went off and did a ton of fansigns, days of work, not just on a piece of cardboard or paper, she did body painting fansigns. girl got almost nothing out of it and was very disappointed. and this was when GFY was much more active than now.

there are people who do lurk here and have lots of traffic/sales but those people will seek you out whether you're on GFY or not if they think they can make money with you.

GFY is a social place for most of us and does give me something of an idea what's happening in the industry as a whole.

Back in the day solo girls like Vanilla Deville, Allie (NaughtyAllie.com), and a few others used to post here but I haven't seen solo girls posting in a loooong time. I think it gained them some exposure, but I can't tell you if that translated into traffic/sales or not.

I've certainly noticed that those girls of GFY are gone, but I'm also talking about the behind-the-scenes girls that seem to be missing from the boards lately.

That sucks that it bombed for you. Guess that's a good sign as to how much industry business gfy really has on it.

GFY has been great to me, from affiliates to b2b clients over the years, truly I have no complaints on that end.

Perhaps GFY simply isn't very good for that market/niche? I still get a ton of business from this board. And I don't even show off my tits! Only privately.
