Because people in general are idiots. I'm sure there are a small amount of tongue-in-cheek comments, but that was within the first hour or 2 of the SCOTUS decision. Canada doesn't have Obama/Romneycare. They have a socialized system whereas the ACA is NOT government run healthcare and is definitely not socialist. Money is paid to private, for-profit insurance companies under the ACA, not a tax to the gov't.

I thought under obamacare that we got to pay for the health care costing us about 1k per year and if we did not pay and refused we were facing jail time.

Had no idea Canada did the same.

Americans have no idea of the taxes most countries pay.

it is socialized medicine, only difference is the mechanism by which people pay for it. over time it will become more like Canada's system. there was no way Obama or any other president could force a Canadian like system down people's throats, especially the fucking health insurance companies and every other corporation that enjoys gouging people who are sick, income taxes would have had to be raised a serious amount.

the medical industry is the tail that wags the dog and we sheep just let it get worse and worse - i'm a believer in capitalism but the one exception is the medical industry, there should be wage and price controls of the entire industry. it's not like any other industry, i do believe in any human society that good medical care is a right, whether you're a lazy unproductive parasite who drinks and eats himself into sickness or not.

all the talk about the deficit, a big part of that deficit could be knocked down by containing medical costs - the way you do it isn't by capping services to the sick, it's capping profits by those who provide care and all that goes with it. at one time people went into the healthcare field because it was a calling, to care for people who were sick and help prevent illness - greed took over the profession when drugs and technological advances opened the floodgates for the merchants of greed. you can't get lower than the insurance industry, well ..... then there's the banking industry.

But how can you reform healthcare without tort reform?

They should just move to Mexico instead. Medication is cheap there as long as you don't get caught in the crossfire of some narco drug war shootout trying to make it to the pharmacy.

I think it's funny that people assume moving to Canada is as easy as just going there.

Ahhhhh, fuck them farmers. As always, Americans will do the horrible, smelly and dirty work, but you need to pay them a good wage. I got a good friend who's family owns a gigantic blueberry farm down in the Pine barrens in Hammonton. They would never in a million years hire an American to work for them when they got these basically indentured servants - the Mexicans live right on the farm in little bare-bones trailers, they pay them like $10 an hour under the table, if that, and they work them from dawn to dusk. Meanwhile, my friend works a couple of hours driving the tractor around or some bullshit, drives a brand new Benz, got a shore house down in Avalon. I mean, his family is fucking loaded.

That's a problem. Meaning, the American worker doesn?t really have any friends anymore. Both parties are supporting his total and absolute replacement by a never-ending tidal wave of immigrant scabs. And it's not only agriculture. Construction is just as bad.

Nobody even pays attention to the big picture, Our health care is now fucked. and no, they can't put you in jail, but they can fine the hell out of you for not having insurance....

Obama being in office has been fantastic for his ratings. Obama Care and another term for Obama means hundreds of millions of dollars for Limbaugh.

I'm pretty sure the late night comedians cried when Bush left office, he was the golden goose for them just like Obama is for Limbaugh

What do you think the "big picture" is? Everybody buying insurance and making insurance companies even richer?

Or maybe the cost of healthcare in the US coming DOWN? Maybe the pharmaceutical companies losing their sweetheart deal (paid for by lobbyists) that allows them to charge people in the U.S. several times more for medication than any other country in the world? (the first thing Obama did was meet with the pharmaceutical companies and guarantee them that would continue)

We have ALL been getting screwed on "health care" for about 30 years now. And we are STILL getting screwed while some big pharmaceutical and insurance companies are getting rich beyond our wildest imagination.

The big picture is your Freedom. The government can now tell you what doctor you have to see, and doctors won't have the choice to pick and choose patients. Also there will be no point in having your own practice, ever noticed how many doctor offices already went out of business? insurance companies pick and choose what they will pay... and since Obama has been in office, Doctors with their own practice are making half the money they did. If your not going to make decent money, whats the point of being a doctor in America, The best doctors will leave, and practice in other countries...

Just another thing added to make all of us, Less free....

Now the government can collect on hospital bills, If you don't pay, they will take anything you own of value.

God these clowns have no idea what socialism is. Canada is so much worse. We give everyone a free ride here. We encourage lazy people to suck on the tit of public money. We pay more taxes then 90% of everyone else and have sub par heath care, high taxes and lots of fat cats on welfare.

Personally I would love for a bunch of Americans to move up here and pay taxes to help give me a little break!
