One thing that is hard to explain are ancient gold mines....scientific evidence puts the mines to be about 150,000 years old...and supposedly we werent capable of fuck all back then.

Who knows we may have had several civilizations rise and fall in that time period. Get to the Roman level or something similar. Most structures would erode into rust after 50k years. So it is really hard to know.

I'm sure there is intelligent life somewhere out there, as intelligent or more intelligent than us? Who knows..... nobody knows. One thing we do know is that this planet we're stranded on is less than a head of a pin in the vast cosmos, so there may be super smart beings out there but the odds of them taking interest in us is remote.

There's no proof aliens have visited earth, there's no evidence there are aliens ...... we're a pretty dumb species, just because we really don't know much doesn't mean there aren't fantastic things beyond our grasp of knowledge yet.

why? I'm not saying I dismiss any and all probability of *some* kind of other life form(s), but why is it an ego thing for anyone to believe that humans are the most advanced physical lifeform (after all, 1 lifeform has to be)? So, why would it mean someone has a big ego?

I assume we all know that the mathematical odds on each of the billions upon billions upon billions of occurences, needed to get to the point of where we are today is almost as incomprehensible as imagining the size of the universe.

How it's anything at all to do with having a big ego if you don't believe in lifeforms more advanced than us is beyond me.

Other intelligent life forms have visited our planet and seen the lineups in the McDonalds drive thru, the reality TV shows we watch and the American political battles and said to themselves, "Nope, no intelligent life forms here", and went looking elsewhere.

Europa is considered by many scientists to be one of the best bets for life in the solar system as they are almost certain there is a vast liquid water ocean covered by a thin sheet of ice. evidence of internal heating and geological activity caused by the elongated orbit of jupiter which continually stretches and compresses the moon creating a friction and heating within. Also the cracks on the surface of the ice look the same as on earth where liquid water has risen to the surface and then frozen over.

The hope is to find life created around geothermal vents in the ocean much like deep sea life at the bottom of the earths oceans that survives without the need for the sun.

It is a mathematical certainty that there is alien life, doesnt mean they have visited us. There is nothing unique about our planet that they would travel the distances to come here when there are probably billions of other earth like planets along the way.

unless we break the speed of light, according to some scientists, we will never be able to communicate to/from other galaxies, everything is moving away from everything too fast, as i understand it.
