Epoch adds Paypal for US customers
 

Just got this email and thought it was pretty cool. I'm thinking this could be a great thing for our US customers :thumbsup

I got good sales for Paypal EU customers the past months. Adding US customers is great news.

Don't forget to enable it in your account...it's not automatic.

We've operated a pilot program in the EU for the past year and we had such success that we were able to expand into other markets.

PayPal still does not allow individual accounts to accept payments in this merchant category code. But through our agreement with them we can offer this option as part of our suite of payment types.

We are very excited about the new possibilities this expansion presents.

Everyone had "success" with Paypal...until they stopped it dead in the water.

How did you guys...out of everyone in the world...figure out how to get Paypal to accept payment for online porn?
If they even THINK you are in porn they usually shut down your account. So how did you guys get them to do it?

Give me some kind of answer that makes sense and I'll sign up to use Epoch for Paypal. I'm just confused as to how you can do that with a company whose TOS says you can't?

Epoch has been processing this category since 1996. PayPal allowed the year long pilot program and given that success, they were willing to allow us to have the expanded rollout.

This took months of work to be able to bring this option to our industry. All parties are obviously confident in moving forward.

Epoch were already miles ahead of any other third party processor for variety of cards and payment methods accepted even without this.

I wouldn't mind a couple of percent off of the processing rate though :)

Money talks. Epoch has like a 10% or more merchant fee and i'm sure paypal is taking a nice chunk of that. Especially considering the volume that epoch does across all it's clients, it's a big chunk of change.

I can only see this as being a positive thing for the time and being. Paypal has historically been anti-adult, so any step in this direction is good news.

Did some people here sleep under a rock for the last year? As a EU paysite owner i can accept PayPal via Epoch for more then a year now and it's great!

This is a great news but I'd like also to have money transfer from epoch to the webmaster by paypal.

Can anyone post an example where the PayPal logo shows up? I am talking about Epoch's GEO script. I do not see the little PayPal logo anywhere.

I am going to guess that Paypal feels Epoch will manage the payment transaction risk for them.

The beauty of the Logo GPS script is you get to decide where to use it. Anywhere on your site, on any page, etc...

Once placed, the PayPal logo will appear on your site automatically, assuming you've opted in to accept it.

Rand, if I were to sign up for Epoch...would I be required to pay the $500 Visa and $500 MasterCard fee even if I don't want to use Epoch for anything EXCEPT the PayPal option?

sextronix says they use epoch in their sites but signup pages show as bsbilling or something... too bad they don't do epoch anymore
