I know someone like that. Saying "Thank you" for the meal or drink is an alien concept to him.

Sly 06-14-2015 09:27 AM

Real friends don't buy friends something and expect something else in return. Thanks or not.

If they are casual friends, thanks are in order.

True, but even if a good friend bought me dinner I would still say Thank You.

I was raised well I guess. LOL

But to take a few people out to dinner and not a single person says thanks? Fuck those idiots, never again is what I would say. Hope you wrote the dinner off as a biz expense at least. :)

lakerslive 06-14-2015 09:57 AM

yeah..i cant believe its bothering even until now..lol

lakerslive 06-14-2015 09:59 AM

lakerslive 06-14-2015 10:07 AM

SekobA 06-14-2015 10:11 AM

Even if a real friend don't think it's too much trouble for someone to say a quick thanks, not like you're asking them to swallow your balls for the meal. :2 cents:

Add Sly to your "Don't take out to dinner rude list" and save da heartache later. :1orglaugh

lakerslive 06-14-2015 10:12 AM

so, a REALLY good friend of yours buys you a drink at the bar, u just drink it and leave?

dyna mo 06-14-2015 10:12 AM

Do you actually have any friends?

Spunky 06-14-2015 10:49 AM

It's just common manners to thank somebody.I wouldn't do it again

I buy drinks and dinners regularly. Never expect a thank you. Don't care if I get one. I buy because I want to treat them.

lakerslive 06-14-2015 11:04 AM

so, someone just paid for your hospital bill of 1 million dollars. U just get up and leave. lol

BlackCrayon 06-14-2015 11:11 AM

personally i wouldn't want a friend to buy me dinner or whatever. i pay my own way and expect others to do the same.

lakerslive 06-14-2015 11:11 AM

so, someone just donated their kidney to you. Fuck em, just another regular day, get up and leave

lakerslive 06-14-2015 11:13 AM

just shows u the kind of subhumans on this forum

Is that what you did?

Look, I say thank you. I don't expect it from others. I buy gifts, dinner, drinks, whatever for other people simply because I want to and I want them to have a nice time. If someone buys me a drink, I return the favor the next time. Same with dinner, so on and so forth.

I don't keep score and I don't cry about so and so not thanking me. I certainly don't play passive aggressive and tell another friend to remind so-and-so that they should have said thank you.

It sounds like these are casual friends that you might not see often. They should have said thank you, they did not. Don't cry about it, just don't do it again. Save your money for people that care about you the same as you care for them.

dyna mo 06-14-2015 11:15 AM

when i do something like this, i make sure i don't have expectations, no strings attached. however, how people move from acquantaince to friend in my life is by their acting respectfully to me and around me, subsequently, my friends say thank you.

First you cry because somebody doesn't say thank you. Now you cry because somebody doesn't agree with you.

You seem to want an award for buying someone dinner. If your money is that precious to you, don't buy someone dinner.

lakerslive 06-14-2015 11:18 AM

its equivalent to someone not saying "good bye, i'm leaving" after they just met you.

lakerslive 06-14-2015 11:19 AM

i dont need an award u idiot. just saying, have manners.

lakerslive 06-14-2015 11:19 AM

so, heres another example for u moron.

U just had dinner with friends and family. U just get up from the table and leave and not say "good bye"

I thought it was equivalent to not saying thanks for a kidney?

So confused. Should I thank you for this new knowledge you are showering me with?

I'm going to a barbecue tonight. Going to take a few sixpacks.

Which party should say thank you? And if we both say thank you, does it have the same effect? What if I say thank you for the barbecue and nobody says thank you for the beer, should I report back?

Is it okay to say "later" instead of "goodbye?"

TheSquealer 06-14-2015 11:24 AM

Sounds like someone is realizing he has no friends

lakerslive 06-14-2015 11:24 AM

lakerslive 06-14-2015 11:34 AM

I want to thank you, for calling me stupid, an idiot, and a moron. I would hate for you to think I have bad manners and not thank you for your wonderful comments.
