His Twitter and FB account has reported that David Bowie had died after a 15-month fight with cancer.

A great icon of our time, I hope it's not true.

Woke up 30 minutes ago to see the news, stunned, the last artist/celebrity I expected to read an obituary for - he had an otherworldly quality that could make you think he was immortal.

Bowie to many kids trapped in small towns and suburban outposts Bowie was a wormhole to another universe. Especially 'different' kids and Bowie made it easier for regular kids to accept the different ones.
