It seems I have kidney failure.

Being treated, for various ailments, at the hospital for a while now. Last year a blood test picked up a problem with my Kidneys function. Further tests revealed the right one is fucked and the left one isn't doing so well.

Family and friends know. No treatment, unless I want to fly to India and buy a kidney or two, which at my age is a waste of money. So just in case I stop or slow down posting, you will all know.

I'm off to get a sun tan in the garden. Then cooking a nice Thai Curry for lunch, from scratch.

femdomdestiny 05-19-2017 03:30 AM

Not doing so well. What does that mean? How much % of functionality has it?

I am just calling a surgeon that removed a kidney to a close person 6 months ago ( for a regular exam).

In previous years, were you taking care about kidneys? I mean, drinking enough water every day?

NewNick 05-19-2017 03:58 AM

Good luck Paul.

I cannot begin to imagine what you are going through Paul. From the bottom of my heart I wish you the very best of luck.

I am in my mid forties now, and obviously over weight. I've lost about thirty or forty pounds in the past four years, with another twenty pounds to go. I am working towards setting myself up to be healthy when I get older. I see my mother, age seventy, who can barely make up the stairs. On the other hand, I see my seventy-one year old friend Bob who bikes forty miles a day. I know which one I want to be like and I am working towards that.

Good luck Paul.

CandidHotties 05-19-2017 07:07 AM

I had cancer 9 years ago and the only treatment was an intense chemo course. That damaged my kidneys. No one would have given me 9 years back then, so I'm a winner.

CPA-Rush 05-19-2017 08:17 AM

get well soon

All my best to you!. Ive had kidney problems since birth. Neither of my kidneys ever functioned at 100%. Ive lost some % of functioning of both.

And I had/have cancer, being diagnosed three years ago. And yes, kidneys are critical for cancer care and chemo. Most of the time people dont realize that chemo really fucks with your kidneys. If you dont have sufficient kidney function, there is no chemo.

Kidneys are life. People think its as easy as just getting dialysis. It might be, unless you really need you kidneys for something else.

Good luck Paul ! Thoughts are with you.

LAJ 05-19-2017 08:23 AM

Get well Paul.

Bladewire 05-19-2017 09:23 AM

This is great news congrats!

Now you know what was causing the sluggishness, foggy mind and memory issues.

I don't believe "No treatment" means you can't do meds & dialysis right? What meds did they give you? When is your first dialysis? How often will you need to go in?

rayadp05 05-19-2017 09:30 AM

Oh wow man. I'm sorry to hear about that. Hope you are able to get well.

docputer 05-19-2017 09:32 AM

Sorry to hear this.
My wife is going through the same. It is getting to where I take her to the Kidney dr sometimes twice a week.
Good Luck.

RIP Paul Markham :(

Acepimp 05-19-2017 09:43 AM

Sorry Paul. Keep enjoying life, and as PR_Glen said, fresh whole food is essential. With a blender and a juice extractor, and organic fruits & vegetables (mostly greens) you can take in essential nutrients. Also, medical cannabis oil, because why not?!

Stop being such a shitstain. Really annoying.

DraX 05-19-2017 11:24 AM

Sorry to hear this Paul...

If you want to share I'm curious to hear more about your kidney problem, is getting a new kidney the only solution. Do you know exactly why your kidneys are not doing well? What kind of treatment are you getting?

Have you been suggested to avoid certain foods or drinks?

I guess anything that put pressure on the kidneys will just make it worse.

Enjoy the sun...
