It's for Air Force One. It's not a luxury, it's a requirement.

I don't like Trump, but certain things should not come into question - such as Secret Service costs or Air Force One. This is a requirement for the President, no matter who the president is.

Air Force One can travel with over 100 people, and be deployed for weeks at a time. It cannot be resupplied on the road in a foreign country for obvious reasons.

Why does it cost so much? It's custom designed and has to build to much higher specifications than a regular plane.

In case of war. Air Force One can stay aloft for a crazy amount of time.

Anything that gets installed onto a plane has to meet all kinds of special requirements like safety, size, efficiency, power consumption, multiplied times 10 because it has to carry the most important person in the world, the POTUS.

It just sucks for the world that that POTUS is (LOL) Donald Trump. Man that's gotta hurt.
