Under the direction of the Vice President, Worldwide Programming, this position is responsible for managing the negotiation and acquisition of rights for externally produced material for inclusion on various distribution platforms, including domestic and foreign TV networks, video on demand, mobile applications, etc. This position also works closely with foreign network programmers on the use of acquired product. This position interacts within the Entertainment division internally, and with industry suppliers and vendors externally.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Remain informed on events, talent interactions, deals, and sales figures of adult entertainment content on variety of distribution platforms in order to anticipate trends and capitalize on them.
2. Act as primary expert on the adult movie industry for the entire corporation. Frequently answer questions posed by various senior level executives and provide information directly or indirectly to Publishing Group and other departments outside the Entertainment division.
3. Evaluate, negotiate for, and acquire adult product for domestic and international usage. Recommend and execute decisions as to how product will be utilized on various distribution platforms. Remain informed on film title distribution commitments (domestic linear networks, video on demand, and international platforms) to maintain adequate inventory levels to ensure an effective fulfillment model.
4. Ensure the conditions of all agreements are adhered to, regarding execution, delivery, documentation, and payment. Provide input to V.P, Worldwide Programming on the status of agreement fulfillment, and make recommendations on continually improving processes. Working in conjunction with the Legal division, generate and monitor contract amendments when necessary.
5. Negotiate terms of all program acquisition deals. Generate and monitor deal memos that conform to evolving legal and contract parameters.
6. Monitor multi million-dollar program acquisitions budget from forecast to actual in order to provide strategic and creative input regarding its status. Ensure that budget is adhered to, and make recommendations regarding future budgeting parameters.
7. Work with other divisions to maximize multiple usages of acquired programming and ensure the sharing of relevant information and resources.
8. Provide creative and constructive input to international network programmers regarding the usage of acquired product.
9. Gain and maintain a fully operational understanding of the PEGI enterprise database system ('IBMS') in order to oversee the creation and maintenance of any relevant information for all acquired product, which includes the tracking of rights terms, territories, fees, feature players and synopses.
10. Ensure that adult product suppliers satisfy Playboy editing requirements and programming standards.
11. Become familiar with all legal E&O policies in order to determine if additional edited versions will be required on all product. Ensure sure these edits are scheduled and completed in a timely manner and ready for telecast or alternative distribution.
12. Ensure that all movie titles and/or subsequent versions are consistent across all networks and usages.
13. Act as trouble-shooter and network representative for issues involving adult movies. Includes important interactions with Playboy TV International, Operations, Marketing, Accounting and Legal.
14. Supervise staff to ensure accuracy of information disseminated and overall work quality.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma and/or college degree preferred. At least three years? experience in adult film evaluation and acquisition at a management level required, preferably in a related industry. Strong analytic skills and the ability to manipulate databases and spreadsheet softwares to provide forecasts and usage analyses. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, specifically with working with vendors / sellers.
