quickbucks say: verify and send copy of driving licene or passport

"Upon receipt of your documentation we will lift the payment hold on your account....."

is that shit becomming modern now ?

will i soon have to send my own 2257 documents?

must i fax a statement of my girl that she allows me to earn money with porn?

strange habbits, strange times!!!

mikesinner 02-22-2007 02:36 PM

I wouldn't ever do that. To many sponsors that don't require anything. They are just losing sales that way

Jace 02-22-2007 02:38 PM

depending on how much I made from the sponsor I would do it

if it was a $100 a month or something piddly, then no, but if I was making enough that I would be considered an "employee" or "contract labor" at any normal job, then yeah, sure

afterall, if I couldn't trust them with my passporte or drivers license info, why would I send them traffic in the first place?

SmokeyTheBear 02-22-2007 02:40 PM

there isnt a chance in the world i would do that , and i advise anyone who is to consult a lawyer.. it would be illegal in many countries for quickbuck to attempt to verify any of the documents. nor would they have any ability to do so , so its basically a useless procedure.

If a scammer in india copies his friends i.d. , theres no way for quickbuck to verify the i.d. is true, any scammer is going to see thru this in a heartbeat.

Hats off to quickbuck for "trying" something smart. "hats back on " for doing it in a silly restrictive way..

ayne468 02-22-2007 02:43 PM

Yeah...I don't think they are doing themselves any favors :Oh crap

its not just them you have to worry about , its every employee , cleaning lady , secretary , programmer , maintenance man etc any of them could steal your identity and then your screwed.

Im really serious here you gotta be deadly serious these days about your i.d.

All it takes is one bad apple and your whole life could be turned upsidedown. look at the 9/11 hijackers. most of whom were actually on stolen id's of real people who had no connection at all "i.e. id theft"

Good point

Splum 02-22-2007 02:44 PM

Forget that never in a million years.

Then again bobby666 after looking at the sponsor you promote in your sig(LUSTYBUCKS) I would ask you for ID as well.

when someone gets hired for a new job, don't employers require an ID?

what is the laws regarding working in the USA as "contract labor"? don't they NEED your ID by law if you reach a certain payout amount?

Jace 02-22-2007 02:50 PM

one more thing

I promote a lot of programs and get a lot of money sent to me each month from tons of programs all over the place...and I have never been asked to show anyone an ID

the most I have ever been asked to do is fill out paperwork for taxes

Kimo 02-22-2007 02:51 PM

are you from russia? it could be a fraud issue.

see above..

i should also be a little clearer about what i said above, its not illegal for them to "ask" for id ( that i know of ) it would be illegal in many countries for quickbuck to attempt to verify that i.d. ( thus making the validity of the i.d. worthless )

BlackCrayon 02-22-2007 02:53 PM

yep, i see that in quickbuck too. guess its time to pull links.

no: i am of the heart of europe

and i didn't start the thread to harm quickbucks- i just thought
what's up, is this a trend? will soon all/most sponsor require this?

great example actually, I make a nice amount from google every month and they have never asked for an ID, so true....

SmokeyTheBear 02-22-2007 02:55 PM

btw im not out to tar and feather quickbuck , as this could be just an isolated case, even if not i do understand the purpose i just dont think this is the way to do it.

Jace 02-22-2007 02:56 PM

has anyone from the USA been asked this?

maybe it is a fraud control step for foreign webmasters?

With all due respect I wouldnt want to promote sponsors who have tours with images like this: http://www.sandyspleasure.com/images/diary_bg.png

:2 cents:

Peaches 02-22-2007 03:02 PM

That Wiseman will do ANYTHING to help his credit out!!

Seriously, there are probably only a handful of sponsors I'd trust with that info - Quickbucks is one of them.

I would say it is more because of your country than anything, was it something that appeared as soon as you logged in?

Theo 02-22-2007 03:05 PM

you can provide a scan with a way it will be useless to anyone attempting to steal your identity. x

Jace 02-22-2007 03:05 PM

NEVERMIND, I just logged in and got this:

Quote:

Verification is a simple process that enables us at QuickBuck to reduce the enrollment of fradulent webmasters in our affiliate program.

By verifying your (or your company's) identity you allow us to keep payouts as high as possible for webmasters who are working hard and earning a living with QuickBuck.

In order to verify your account simply e-mail or fax a legible copy of one of the following to [email protected] or +1-469-533-1985:

*
United States issued drivers license
*
Government issued passport
*
Articles of incorporation
oh well, there goes quickbuck down the drain, luckily I haven't put much out there to promote them quite yet

yes, after login ther was written:
"Attention: Your account is active but your identity has not been verified.
Until your identity is verified your payments will be held.

Click here to learn how to quickly verify your identity"

beneath the regulary affiliate section

Jace 02-22-2007 03:08 PM

I just emailed them

Quote:

What is the reason for needing a copy of my ID or Drivers License?

I am very protective over this after my identity was stolen last year, so unless you have some other options I would have to just decline and stop promoting quickbuck.

Another option would be that I would need a copy of every employee of quickbucks' drivers license, that way I know who has access to that information and if anything was to happen I would know who was to blame

Jace

spacedog 02-22-2007 03:09 PM

and considering that I sent mine in several weeks ago, i wish they'd get on the fucking ball so I can get fucking paid!!

Splum 02-22-2007 03:12 PM

Wow they went a little overboard didnt they. What a good way to kill off even legitimate traffic. Oh well wasnt doing that well with them anyways. 1:5000ish

Keep my $150 Quickbuck :)

They already have the important stuff - your name, address, SSN or EIN. If they wanted to steal your identity (which I can 100% guarantee you Kris doesn't need to do, lol), they already have enough.

Jace 02-22-2007 03:55 PM

I just emailed Quickbuck and they responded in like 3 minutes

they only require this to prove you are who you say you are and you info matches up, you are welcome to black out anything you think could be used for ID theft

mikesinner 02-22-2007 04:14 PM

Quickbucks isn't that great anyway

Nookster 02-22-2007 04:19 PM

drivers license or passport? No fucking way. If they can't get the job done with my social alone they can suck a dick and see my attorney in court.

I'm not an affiliate but am kind of wondering what information they're requiring from corporations. The ID of the CEO? The account contact? Articles of incorporation?

Sly 02-22-2007 04:21 PM

What are you guys doing using your social anyway? Get incorporated already.
